Supposedly with the 3D printer Denny's got he's going to start doing more shoes in-house. But even if they outsource it boggles me that those awful shoes were the best they could find. I get better stuff for less than $10 a pair all the time off of eBay.

Who knows? It all reminds me of that time when Ronald Reagan stole Clint's "Make my day".
Yeah. . .the whole thing still feels a bit weird to me. I don't think it hurts anything because the other set was already released and sold out, but is there really a demand for another Dirty Harry right now? Hardcore fans of DH (of which I, admittedly, am not) no doubt already got the Velvet Morning version anyway.

People will buy this one for the Grove sculpt, though. That's the reason I would get it frankly. I like the first film, but would need something really special like that to push me over the edge.

Regardless of the demand or lack of demand it appears to be happening I'm with you guys at first I was a little surprised by the announcement but options are always good and if Iminime want to do a Callahan figure then fair enough I guess. All I'm interested in right now is which outfit you'd prefer ;)

I do hope it will sell. . .I think there's a way Denny could guarantee that, regardless of suit--don't sell the head separately and don't make it available to VIPs.

But man, I can imagine the kind of EPIC complaints that would bring on. :lol

That would certainly do it but the *****ing and whining backlash would be Rainman threadesq :horror

That's another thing, VIP's. Is that sort of thing really necessary?
In what sense? As I see it, it was a move to get more business by Denny (discount helps push folks over the edge; helps to keep people paying more attention to all his releases), and to get some cash upfront to help fund other work of theirs. So maybe not necessary, but probably a boon to his enterprise.

VIP is actually an excellent deal even if you don't want to use the discount on anything. 3 painted heads for $100 each with free shipping is a steal nowadays.

I getcha. Thanks for the clarification :)

:lol in all seriousness though Kara pretty much hit the nail on the head not necessary but will have raised a fair bit of useful capital for Denny and Co.

What's the going rate for one of the VIP or DX or whatever its being called, sets?
There were only a handful of DX sets so far. Each one I know of (Morgan Freeman from Seven, American Psycho Bale, Blondie) came with an extra sculpt, and I think they averaged around $100 over the price of the regular sets. Freeman seems like it was less, I think those others were a little more.

No, it's just a membership. It gets you, I think, three headsculpts, priority pre-order privileges, and a 10% discount on all purchases.
