Yes I had this trouble but I simply rolled them up and added a tiny dab of model glue to hold the buttons together as they kept popping open

Model glue? Sorry, is that a sort of specific glue/brand name? How does it look when the sleeves are unrolled with the glue? Does it leave any staining?

I believe a new run would be at the discretion of the person who originally commissioned it. He hasn't been on the boards in a long time.
