Just simulating a slightly different take on the lighting, using the teriffic PS by nexus as a base for comparison. That's an un-photoshopped shot from Jnix on the right with a few exposure and contrast changes...

What I can't seem to do however is remove or reduce the shadow from the mouth which is making it look more open than it is actually scuplted - if Han can be used as a guide. It's pretty clear from the light reflecting off of the bottom edge of the philtrum and the lower lip as well as other areas, that there is a fairly intense light shining on the sculpt from above which I'm almost sure is exaggerating this open mouth look...

But look, I'm not trying to make excuses. There are probably a few tweaks that could be done (mainly with paint highlights I'd bet) like some contouring of the nose bridge and a softer treatment of the skin to match more with Hamill's 1976-77 youth, but the sculpt, imo, is tremendous.

This reminds me of when everyone "tweaked" the hell out of MJ's Indy, and by the time mine finally arrived, I had no idea what it was going to look like.

I think Craig Walker's comparisons a few pages back finally made me see the problem (I didn't want to quote them because Craig was using them as a way of saying how much he likes the sculpt).

PLEASE don't think I'm trolling - I bought two painted Han sculpts and the one I have left (I gave away the other one) is pretty much the best Star Wars thing I own. But IMHO the nose, eyes etc are secondary to the fact that the bone structure is WAY too strong for Mark Hamill - especially cheekbones - which means that the whole face is off to me. Mark in 1976 had the most boyish features possible, the only thing that changed that was his accident. His face has a complete absence of strong features, which is why, visually, he was such a good fit for the part of an unformed adolescent growing up.

For this reason I won't be buying it, and in my opinion Jnix should scrap it completely and start again. But that's just my honest opinion, and I know I'm in a minority of one!

As it stands i am out.... which is a real shame because the Han sculpt was so good...

Whether you like it or not, jynx did the best he could, and whether he wanna fix it or not, that's up to him, just like whether you wanna buy it or not, it's up to you. It's still better than HT's take IMO.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion... it isn't like this is $10 we are throwing at it... everyone has real life going on.... $170 is a fare amount of money to be laying down... altering the bridge of the nose and the eyes won't fix it imo... yes it is an improvement on the Hot Toys sculpt... but not enough to make me want to make a $170 change.... i am not denying that Jnix has serious skills.... the Han sculpt speaks for itself.... but this... i would not put this work in the same portfolio...

Jinx is modifying the sculpt. He could have left it and it would have sold anyway.
A true gentleman to rework this and listen to the feedback.

Sorry for being silence for a day. I have read all replies and critiques on this thread and thought much, so took a while to figure things out myself.
Actually, I have much things to talk back to you about the sculpt as I am the only man who has the real sculpt in hand and see, however, I realized that is meaningless in this moment.

So, I have decided to hear your constructive thoughts and modify it! I can not sculpt this 100% perfectly same to Mark Hamill however, I will try to get to more perfection. Here is the things. I am going to resize and modify the the nose and its bridge as this part is mostly off but not from the bottom. and also will change eye painting to match the color and balanced. So it will take a while (not that much though)

Taking Order is postponed and will try not to take too long. I will announce re opening order as soon as I think it`s done. and also I will app painting again on casted modified sculpt. I respectfully ask you to wait until then.

Jnix, I know this has been said before but I'll say it again: you are a class act. Not many people can pull off the balancing act between artistic expression and a genuine desire for customer satisfaction, but you've managed it. Bravo.

The thing is Jnix my friend, you made such a "holy grail" of a Han Solo sculpt that everyone demands that perfection from you with this. You're truly amazing talent is a blessing and a curse :wink1:
