With the photoshop airbrush I've enlightened the cheekbones in a different way, painting emphasizing the signs of aging could be the key for this beautiful sculpt imo. I'm still deciding if take it or not... and time goes by

I don't think people are meaning to be horrible, they just want the best sculpt they can get, and are being vocal in what they see wrong.
Jnix is a great talented guy, his Han solo will go down in history as probably the best anh Han sculpt there is, and probably Jnix's biggest earner.
And let's not forget, the more accurate the sculpt, the more money he will take in, so yes, criticism may be harsh, but its an unavoidable side effect of art.
I've saw but a handful of the world's best painters make the Luke sculpt look anywhere like Hamill, and I don't see that changing with this sculpt either, it's just too far off in certain key areas.
I hope I'm wrong, in really do, I own both of the previous Jnix sculpts, but this one is a no go, I learned my lesson with Luke.

Good god I hope Jnix has tough skin...

I hope I'm wrong, in really do, I own both of the previous Jnix sculpts, but this one is a no go, I learned my lesson with Luke.

Same for me. I've not even put my Luke sculpt on the figure. Han is just brilliant.

Han levels of perfection? Nope.

Pisses over the HT and a definite replacement if you own HT Obi? Yes.

Yeah no kidding. It's fine to make a few suggestions, but we're still talking about a custom sculpt here. If you think the likeness is too far off then just don't buy it. :dunno

Oh dear, it's just like the Luke sculpt all over again! I seem to remember taking a beating on this board for some negative comments I made about that one!! Of course we should be able to voice our honest opinions; it's not like we're getting these things for free!! And Jnix is a top artist who does listen to his audience/fans, so I think this conversation can only be for the good! At the moment, I am most definitely out, but with a few tweaks here and there, I might just change my mind...

Still, at least we have a damn fine Father Christmas sculpt now...:yess:

I wish I could see it Cap'n, it's a good sculpt agreed, but it's only a slight improvement over the hot toys version in my opinion.
A previous post has shown with some alterations how it brings the sculpt way way closer to the Guinness we all want.
Sideshows sculpt still has the crown for me, but I have no intention of buying a full figure to get it.

Same for me. I've not even put my Luke sculpt on the figure. Han is just brilliant.

I painted mine, then stripped back and put it back in its box.
And that's the point, if Jnix takes the feedback onboard and refines the Ben sculpt, it only benefits him.
Han was just pure genius and must have outsold Luke 4 to 1, it just makes good business sense to get it right.

Has anyone actually approached Jnix about the sculpt ? It looks like a lot of comments and suggestions are being made that may ultimately come to nothing. Do I like the sculpt ? Yes , definately head and shoulders above the HT sculpt. Would I accept any changes ? Yes, if all if those who expressed interest would contribute constructive comments that would enable Jnix to tweak the sculpt ( if possible). It looks to me that all of his effort is being shot down . No-one had managed a decent Luke sculpt , Jnix is the most accurate so far. Only two sculptors have accurately captured Harrison Ford's likeness so far. What we're seeing now is comments made using the same still photograph to point out "issues" and the photograph of the sculpt hasn't been photographed in the same way.

If all the comments and suggestions were presented in a structured way to Jnix, there is a greater likelihood that the changes will be taken on board. At the moment we run the risk of losing a great talent as If it were my sculpt I'd be taking a lot of those to heart and would take my skills elsewhere.

It may happen , it may not but let's be a bit more diplomatic with our words fellas.

Extremely nice, quality piece here, though I think the Hot Toys sculpt has a better likeness personally.

I guess that what people were hoping for, because Jnix is such an accessible artist that clearly cares about making his customers happy, is that opportunity.

He's also losing potential sales if we sit with our hands over our mouths, too afraid to say anything. I for one, am not buying it (I have both the Luke and Han), because I feel the pointed out issues are too obvious for me.

But I'd happily put down my money if they were addressed.

I may not have agreed with all the Photoshopping nonsense last time (because I felt it was over the top and never ending) but that was very well put - a good counter-argument/point raised in a fair manner, IMO.

If Jnix does make the changes suggested (I'm assuming he won't) I would change my mind and buy one too.

I'd definitely reconsider buying a sculpt if the issues were addressed.
The difference between selling 50 heads as is, and selling 200 with a revised sculpt surely must make enough sense to go back and at least look at issues that have been raised.
Jnix has the magic to do this, I have faith he will revise it.

Yeah, most people agree that Han was about perfect and I believe that was a run of 70 and 70.

His second run on Han sold 84, with people still requesting more, so no, I don't think it's a massive exaggeration.
Yes the list was 70, but some people were ordering 2 at a time.
My point is, the difference between an OK sculpt and a great sculpt has huge financial gains.

I wanted to get this Obi Wan as I am very happy with the Luke and especially Han.

This one doesn't look as good as those two in these pics.

Looks like he is so close but still not there yet. Some of the of the pics on page 20 with the head a more squarer shape are much better.

I have been doing some funny Hot Toys reviews lately and have had a lot people from here contact me, I just joined very recently.
