Jinx and Sideshow blow HT sculpt away as far as Sir Alecs likeness. I think the paint up on that Sideshow looks phenomenal; definitely not dated at all. Problem is you have to buy whole figure for that head. Jinx' sculpt definitely sold me when put on the body. Just a matter of painting myself or paying for the paint. Overall, fantastic work.

Vast improvement over the standard HT, but for some reason the standard doesn't annoy me - like the young Tom Cruise did

I've seen two Han heads in hand and while both were superb, one was much darker than the other. If I was to buy from Jnix again - and I'm sure I will! - I would ask him to make sure that the head I bought wasn't too dark (for a caucasian character). He's an absolutely lovely guy to deal with so I'm sure he would okay with that.
Paint app on Obi is stunning, but I find the eyes a little glassy and I think the sculpt needs refining, it's almost there but something about the beard and top lip isn't quite right.

I figured out what is slightly off about the beard. It is the length . It makes his chin look very long. If you remove approx 1/3 of the beard in a straight line across the bottom , it improves the overall look in my opinion. I already have plans to remedy this

paulcarson, you've hit the nail on the head. I too was thinking the same thing and was already mulling over taking a dremel to Ben's beard when I get mine to help bring it closer to his on screen look.
I also want to add in more of the brown's that I always associated with his beard, and those two heavy white sections on both sides of his chin. Think that should take this great sculpt and make it even better!

No disrespect to Jnix, but the sculpt is way off on this one.
You need to go back to the drawing board.
The top or first a pic is of Sir Alec Guinness next to the Jnix custom head at the exact same scale.
The basic head shapes are very different.
Alec's almost got a block head, and the custom head is like a upside down tear drop shape.
The eyes are too close together, the mouth is too small, chin and beard are too pointy, Alec has a much more square jaw and chin area. Even the top of his head is pointy on the custom.
This other bottom second pic is the same of Alec, but I have fixed these issues in photoshop of the custom.

Yeah, that definitely does seem to capture the overall shape better. I'm still happy I'm picking a headsculpt up but yeah, your photoshopped version does show where there was a bit a wiggle room to refine it.

The photograph you've used isn't a straight forward facing shot. That is why the proportions look off compared to the picture of the actor. The sculpt is pictured facing slightly downwards.

The Alec pic has more of the left side of face in the shadowed area.
Just cover that part with you hand if you can't see it, the Alec pic is still very close to been front on, just look how much you still see of his right side of his face.
You can easily google other images to see the big difference, I just used that one because Jnix and many others here have.

With the photoshop airbrush I've enlightened the cheekbones in a different way, painting emphasizing the signs of aging could be the key for this beautiful sculpt imo. I'm still deciding if take it or not... and time goes by
