Re: Candyman & Friend Monty Productions : Epic surprises in store!

I have an idea for finding out more about the insignia on the cane. The actor who played Mike Tevee in the movie sells group signed Willy Wonka photo's on eBay. I have purchased from him before, he's in New York. Maybe we could contact him and ask about the cane?

Re: Candyman & Friend Monty Productions : Epic surprises in store!

Quick question mike5401 is doing the cane 3D printing the cane and is working in it what would the correct size be?

I thought about 6 inches.... Is that right?

Looking at the photo's, the cane is a little below the waist. In each photo, you can see Wonka's arm is angled downward. The last photo shows his arm level, but the cane is off the ground.

I just measured what proper cane height would be on a kumik slim. It is definitely 6" from the hand to the floor if you wanted to pose the figure to be leaning on it. The DX08 Joker cane is 5.75" but it is too short for him to comfortably lean on like in the reference photos.... see how far down the joker has to be posed to lean on it.

I think behind the scenes press photos are the only way to know for sure. I bought the pure imagination making of book today for $2 on amazon... I am hoping that May have something cool / useful.

I have a slight theory... I could be crazy but..... Look behind veruca. Could that be it? It's a similar shape / pattern.

I think you are right about the pattern behind her. I would imagine that Wonka would have his insignia on various placed throughout the factory.

As far as the length of the cane, better to be a touch long than short.

Yeah I had the Joker cane out with one of my Ghostbusters figures that is on that body. It definitely was on the short side. 6" is perfect. The emblems in the Veruca scene are actually round so it may not be it? lol I just think we take artistic license.... we know what the shape is... just not whats in the middle.

Re: Candyman & Friend Monty Productions : Epic surprises in store!

I need to watch the movie this week and look for areas that he has his initials and where they are placed. If they are in various places, like on the fence in front of the factory, then most likely that's what is on the cane. It may be a different shape because of the shape/size/area of the cane.

I found a larger photo with Veruca standing with two insignias. The one to the left is different from the one on the right.

See what this project has done? It turned us into Wonka analyzers lol. but yeah I think its possible that it is what is on the cane, a simple design element. They are all round in the scene, but I think that one is either different or just lens distortion.

smoothed the face, reworked the eyes a bit. added the sideburns/ hair on the side. Hat is still a work in progress.

Your work has such a smoothness and grace to it, I am always amazed whenever I see it! The sculpt is looking awesome! The shaping on the hat is starting to look amazing as well. I am excited for sure.

Pair this with rahmier's paint.... It will be incredible!
