Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

I got the suit on, trying to figure out how the armor goes on.

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

I'm back from a business trip and I'll make and upload manual on armour in a couple of days. I suggest all y'all to make a first pre-assembling moves without the leather suit to avoid damaging, it looks tricky, but after pre-assembling everything will be easy. Plus I'm going to show the difference between art-figures body (let's call it a pro-mode) and headplay narrowed (easier). Just need to get back to the office, so stay tuned)))

yes I am very curious to see how the head is supposed to fit inside the helmet

Got mine today, it's actually pretty easy to do, you have to insert it at an angle. I've taken it in and out a few times. Mine is unpainted so I've been pretesting before I start painting.
Good to know about the manual, I'll wait for that before I start assembling too much.

Trust me, it's not easy to do. I have turned it every which way, and unless you want to scratch the heck out of the beard, you're not going to get it in without taking out a part of the ring.

I got head into the helmet. It's like Tekkaman said, you have to go in on an angle. IMG_3154.jpg

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

Well, looking at yours, I can see that the parts of the helmet covering the cheeks on mine are more compressed than yours. Mine slant in towards each other whereas yours seem almost parallel.

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

Thanks for posting that picture. I pried on each side a little to straighten mine out and finally got it to go. I knew there had to be something wrong.

mine seems to be the same. How did you pry yours out. Did you heat it up first or just use some plyers. I am afraid to break it.l

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

I grabbed the closest thing available which was a pair of heavy duty scissors. Sure a thick screwdriver would work. I wouldn't use pliers. You have to be very careful with cast. It doesn't have a lot of give. I ran the scissors diagonally from the eye socket on one side to the center of the cheek guard on the other side. I pried very gently on each side, just a little each time until the head fit. Try to spread the force out over as much area as possible.

I don't know if heating will help. I definitely was afraid to try, thus my previous post with the lump of gold.

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

I ended up using pliers with some cloth to keep from making teeth marks. A very gentle bend was all it needed on both sides and I was able to get the head inside!

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

Ok, guys, here are some of the tips on his head, neck, legs. We all need to find some black body neck, and you can have some variants, so the easiest way to make em all work is to use plasticine - allows to find the best height and angle you want.

Positioning of the head inside the helmet - easiest way is to use plasticine also - keeps head inside and allows to have the right angle.

Now the bodies - easiest one to use is Headplay`s narrow - it`s a little thinner and it`s easier to make chest and other armour parts fit well. You will not really see the difference when the figure is assembled. But to calm your soul you can use Art-Figure`s one - looks tougher and it will have less space between armour and body for his clothes, so you need to modify it a little

Legs - headplay`s inpegs will fit nice, Art-Figure`s legs - just cut the feet, make em fit that hole in his boot and glue to the feet.

I`ll upload Chest plates, back plate and belt manuevres plan later, it`s tricky, but once you know the idea - you`ll see how it`s simple to assemble. First pre`assembling is better to make without clothes to avoid damaging.

I'm glad you posted about grinding the calf and the forearm. That's exactly what I determined needed done when I first got the figure.

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

У меня фотки вообще не отображаются(

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

Something is happened with photobucket, I'll reupload em later

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

Time for the chest parts:) I advise to make it all without the clothes for the first time, it`s called pre-assembling)

Ok, our parts

First we need to play with these two. We chose soft metal to be able to move and fit for the body (use "+" at thotobucket to enlarge the pics). We need 2 parallel lines

Something like this

Now take a good string or iron wire and attach the chest plate from the inside like this

Same for the back, but it`ll be on the body, to be able to wear it and then use the wire

Put the upper part on, like this

it must fit to each other like this

Shoulder plater are the fixators

Belt

Install the back plate

Boom, and we`re done

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

I've just bought a regular knock off AA body coming. Interested to see you guys do a building up on other bodies so may upgrade if it looks better.

As to the helmet, mine was able to fit in but it is tight and it first looked like it wouldn't, but then it just clicked into place. I'd have no chance of removing it.

Anyone got picks of what they're doing to fit the head to the body - it seems to need some sort of adapter ?

Re: [Scaletta] Heimdall !SECOND RUN!

The one I th pics is Art-Figures, it's a lol bit tougher than Headplay's one, Narrow will be easier but look great))
