Looking forward to seeing this. I love how she puts us on the back burner, then says the prices have gone up.Official Update.
Yunsil just sent me an email tonight saying the prototype is done. She re-did the pants with a new silkscreen.
She didn’t actually send pictures yet, but gave me a long spiel about prices going up over the past two years.
I‘ll post the pictures a soon as I have them.
Looks really good!Ok. She just sent the prototype picture, which I posted in the first post.
I’m happy. Let me know your thoughts. She still hasn’t sent the new prices yet.
Three people want on board. If anyone doesn’t want their spot, let me know. I’ll ask about authorizing more than the initial 11 heads.
Neck looks much too long for the body.
Does that include the deposit we already paid or minus the deposit? We got permission to cast more heads.
Yunsil sent me prices today, but I need to clarify the credit that remains from the deposit relative to the substantial shared costs ($650!) on printing and fabric. We seem to have interest in 15 sets, so it works out to $350-ish per person plus shipping.
Thanks for clearing it up for me.That’s the grand total, so the $100 deposit covers part of it.
Since you’re here in the U.S. the balance you’ll owe will be approximately $255 plus $8 shipping.
All sounds good. As far as the sleeves go, if meant to be rolled up, then you would definitely want shorter sleeves so they are not so bulky when rolled. The prototype shipped yesterday to me.
Someone already correctly noted that the pants need significant adjustment. I’m really not sure why they are so long, since I sent her the DAM 2.0 body and she appears to be using it. That’s an easy correction.
Also, a reminder that the sleeves are meant to be rolled up. We don’t really even know what cuffs his shirt has. They might have been french cuff, or contrasting, like the collar. We just have no idea about that or the jacket that ostensibly would go with the pants.
The idea here is to recreate that specific, iconic look.
With the accessories, I’m going to test using conductive paint and electroplating. Casting circular objects that small is VERY difficult. The ideal solution is to lay a true metallic 18k gold layer on the 3D print, since gold waxes and paints just never look quite right.
