I've heard that rumor a few times and would really love t if this were true. They should keep it tight, all mythology and close off some character arcs. I'd love to see dogget and Reyes as supporting characters too.

I can't imagine mulder and scully in this day and age. It would be too easy for them! You'd think they'd at least have iPhones so they could at least take photographic evidence of all of the proof of government cover ups and hard evidence of extra terrestrial life before the swat guys chased them off the premises lol

I think you might see more creative storylines come out of these characters dealing with modern changes, for instance I think today Mulder would be a little more paranoid about using cellphones given the ability of the "man" to use them as tracking devices.

Agreed about an all mythology based storyline, I think going with a monster of the week storyline for the last movie was a huge mistake.

X-files was such an innovative show, when I first watched Breaking Bad I couldn't help but see how that show was inspired by the X-files (I found out later that Vince wrote for x-files at some point so it wasn't a surprise).

Lol. The premise of the miniseries is Mulder stumbles across the #truth and posts it to his Instagram and then the government shuts down his account and he and the lone gunmen find a way to make it go viral so they kidnap mulder making it look like an alien abduction leaving only Scully and/or skinner to infiltrate a top secret base in order to save him in the knick of time. One episode. Done. Honestly that would have been a better plot than the last movie was!

Yup Vince was a writer and a producer on the x files. He remembered Bryan Cranstens performance from the episode that he was in from the x files that he wrote and demanded to cast him for breaking bad even though the producers fought hard to Vito thst decision.

That's a pretty awesome casting story, love the X-files connection to the show.

I was watching "The Host" last night and they use cell phones. I figure they'd be able to decently integrate modern tech into the show.
And if you haven't seen X-Files in HD yet, do so. It looks so great that it's like watching a different show.
