If this can get off the ground I'm in and I will supply ALL the photos and measurements of the REAL CAR including the weapons box......:wink1:

I build and help build REAL Supernatural Impala's and I have friends who actually build the REAL cars for the show so I have ALL the detailed info on the car, props and wardrobe...............:yess:

As stated I will help who ever is going to take on this project so the car is done to the correct specs.

Dude thats awsome.

Alright all of you Supernatural knuckle heads, we have a question for you and we are starting a new thread to go with it. Many of you have talked for years about wanting a 1:6 Impalla prop, and we have a few ideas if you guys are interested to keep this reasonably cheap.

What we need to know is your preference and interest level.

We have two ideas here:

1) a back-of-the-car opening trunk dio with working light-up tail lights with secret stash storage compartments.

or

2) 1:6 full Impalla: What if we made an Impalla car frame to go over an existing 1:6 RC car (to give it a base more than to make it an RC) and keep it cheap? We would still make an opening trunk, but then you'd have a nice Impalla prop for your shelves for your ultimate SUPERNATURAL set?

The interior would be whatever the RC car has so won't be accurate, but the intent here is to give you guys something cheap and affordable?

I have no idea on cost but I'd guess less than $150-$175 (not including RC car base)?

Thoughts? Ideas? Interest?

Let us know! Thanks!

PS- This is definitely a 2013 project, FYI.

-Rick :)

you know rick with me and the last guy who posted and a few pages back if you counted the amt you got your 16 for the full shell and that guy might give you guys awsome detail on the car you should pm him

Im probably the only one on here who has no idea what a RC base is lol but it seems like a cool idea

then the duce guy might be better help i took one of those apart when i was little and their is very little useful parts

really a steryrene sheet cut out like bottom, then if sean made a generic seats i could pad them and use pleather to make seat covers. the drivers panel would be part of the shell.

im not sure if you took apart a remote control car if the base would be a clean cut part.

That is a beauty and would adore this car on my shelf.

in 1/6th scale of course lol.

I know it will be huge im thinking about 33-35" long how i guessed that if the impala is 17 feet

where a 12" figure would = 6' human scale so dimensions for 17 feet x 4.5 feet in 1/6 scale would be about 8" highx 35 " long from nose to tail just to be porportionate.

Supernatural Impala is being made by Greenlight. Yes, this is a BRAND NEW casting which means it will be a 67 Impala 4dr hardtop, the car will also come with correct wheels and spotlights................................ Greenlight is doing this car in 1:64 scale (hot wheels size) and 1:18th scale. The 1:64 car is due out in October and the 1:18 scale care is due out in December. Yes, both cars will be done in Supernatural Packaging..........................:hi5:

Now if we can get enough people to be interested in a 1/6th scale we would have 3 scales for collecting. I know I want one

I don't know if rick and sean are even doing this because with me,you and the duce that made the total people 15

The people who are interested in a 1:6 Impala all want different things so the interest list is really skewed. We started the idea as an inexpensive shell, but it has grow by passionate fans as many wanting a full deal. The reality is, WGP offers 1:6 full figure customs at near $1000, and that's not getting a lot of profit, that's us needing to hire out to have other people do a lot of different things we can't do. Because everyone interested has different aims in terms of how complete they want he Impala, we can't please everyone and people will drop off the list. Many people also need this already made for them with as little build work as possible.

To offer a true, detailed 1:6 Impala at a custom level would cost $1,000, at least. Opening trunk. Moving tires. Doors. And I don't know how many people we would need to be signed up. I don't know if the forum could produce enough interested people to float the Impala done *****-out properly.

Thinking about this, the smartest thing for something that complicated would be for us to go to a factory with our designs/sculpts and have them produce it for us. The best way to get something like that done would be for fans to start a 1:6 Kickstarter project for the Impala. That way it would reach general car enthusiasts, other Supernatural fans who aren't necessarily into 1:6,
and 1:6 fans.

Now, I unfortunately have no idea if it's actually legal to do Kickstarter to make a toy of a car since "Impala" is a owned by Chevy. But that's what I thought of as perhaps the best realistic solution for you guys. The more people involved the less it would cost.
