Re: YUNSIL -Grimes outfit

This is a much needed outfit set but wouldn't it be wiser to put this project on pause and wait for the Threezero fig to ship out instead of rushing it and settling for the only bodies that are currently available (which are all too buff for Rick)? If the body on the Threezero is more suitable than these TTM19 equivalents, then a Yunsil outfit would be a perfect upgrade to that set. Everyone's going to need all the accessories, a sculpt and boots anyway so it could be an easy outfit swap and donzo
When is the Threezero Rick even supposed to ship?

Re: YUNSIL -Grimes outfit

:hi5:

Plus the fig only retails for $165 and offers a solid base to build on. If the body is a better choice than a 19 equivalent, we'll have a sculpt, body and boots all factory fitted for each other

Very true indeed! Ok I might hold off sending a body till the Threezero is in hand to compare.

If you're down to put this on ice until we see what the Threezero set is made of, you can 100% sign me up

Re: YUNSIL -Grimes outfit

Another nice benefit from the 3Z set is the arms are double jointed

Re: YUNSIL -Grimes outfit

Personally, I don't think this 3Z sculpt is worth waiting for. I'd use Yh Ha's bearded Rick myself. The accessories don't look much better than the Redman stuff either 9or the equal/better stuff out there). I guess for the overall price though it's an option.

I thought the Dam Toys body that came with the Rick/Daryl sculpts was great for Rick. I would have used it, but I wanted the season 4 look with a slightly open shirt so i didn't work. It's a little too tall - the Redman jeans were high-watered on it (not sure why they made them so short) but the bulk/shoulders/arms seemed good.

Re: YUNSIL -Grimes outfit

Yeah the shirt should be slightly more open than that so definitely needs a neckless body. I'm commissioning a new Rick sculpt to go with this set so the Threezero sculpt is of no concern to me to use

Support Redman??

I think the 3Z sculpt is solid, but if that's not the worth the wait for everybody, the body and accessories should be. Those 19 equivalents are way too buff for Rick (or Daryl for that matter).

Patience is key in this hobby. A couple months to make sure something will turn out better is well worth it.

Well said Pop.
Agreed.

The chest on the body I proposed is great for Rick. The only thing too buff would be the arms which are easily swapped out for TTM18 arms. From what I've gathered the prior Threezero bodies are TTM18 knockoffs. And like I said I'm commissioning a new sculpt for this set so the only thing needed would be a belt, boots and accessories which are all readily available on ebay or 1/6 sites from other sellers. Also not everyone will be buying the Threezero to get the body so it needs to be something more widely available

This is also an option

Or a standard TTM18 if you only want to display it with the jacket on

It depends how you're gonna display him. I could offer necked and neckless versions of the sculpt.

Not trying to open a can of worms - and maybe I don't know everything about Redman - but if the argument is that it's a rip-off of a non-licenced custom or other non-licenced set, etc. - how high do I set my morality sights? A little higher and I won't be able to buy anything from this forum!

I don't want to make waves brother, but you're locking in the best seamstress in the biz to tackle a high demand outfit. It's not like she'll do a revision later, but even if she did do a second run, I doubt that all the V1 buyers will be happy to pay for an improved V2. You have one shot to do it the right way the first time, so I just think it's worth making sure the body choice is right. People can pick their sculpt and accessories can be sourced from bootlegs to Fullmetal, but once the jacket is tailored for the 19, there's no going back. The arms and shoulders on the 19 are the big problem. They are way too big and it will be very noticeable (see things like Iminime's Tyler)

The 18 KO with the "muscle" torso would be a much better option than the 19s. At least the arms will be tailored slimmer, and that's the biggest area where 3Z went wrong with theirs. If it's initially tailored to that, there will be a lot of other bodies that will still work after the fact.

Well said Pop.

:lol no brother, have no worries. Especially if you're someone who is interested in commissioning and paying for Yunsil level stuff, you can set your sights WAY higher than Redman and find plenty to buy. There are plenty of talented artists here collectively offering a ton of stuff who you can support directly :duff

Oh! You were referring to the quality. Well, yeah I would have liked to get that same outfit from Yunsil, but I missed it. Plus I wanted to practice weathering it - and wanted a LOT of wethering; sweat, blood, etc. Now I'd feel comfortable doing that to a Yunsil, but at that point...no.
