Re: YUNSIL- Vito Corleone tuxedo DEPOSIT DEADLINE MAY 13

I'd like to be in on this. Might be fun with an upgrade afterall. Anyone know whether the knock off tuxedo really is a step up alone to Hot Toys original? Was just looking through pictures of the HT tux and thought the material looked like suede.

Re: YUNSIL- Vito Corleone tuxedo DEPOSIT DEADLINE MAY 13

Not totally for sure on this and Mike has all the info so he should confirm if this is what he went with or not but I think it was mentioned back in page 1 or 2 that she was going to tailor to the original fatsuit but on a TTM21 to better help bulk up the Don, plus it's just a more sturdy body in general.

hey guys, it is indeed a TTM21, with the bigger shoulders and arms to fill out the proportions a bit. Personally, i never thought the HT fat suit was particularly inaccurate or overly fat, in fact its fairly minimal. It was more just the poor tailoring and skinny arms on the old body that threw it out of whack.

Thanks for the info, I read through the thread but wasn't sure if that was the final choice on the body.

DP sent! Thanks for getting this going Mike :hi5:

Not sure on how the KO tux stacks up to the original HT, but the HT tux is definitely not suede or even suede-like. It may just be coming across that way in certain pics.

Re: YUNSIL- Vito Corleone tuxedo DEPOSIT DEADLINE MAY 13

I believe even in the film it appeared suede-like, or material similar to it to me at times. What makes me say this is because the material appears matte on screen. But it might be the shiny lapel that's distracting making the rest of the tux to appear more matte than it is. Thanks Mike

One thing I noticed about the KO tux recently is that it's four button sleeved. Perhaps not the biggest deal to most, afterall the more buttons (on the sleeves at least) the more formal it is. And now looking at the waist coat the buttons inside are too visible when buttoned.

I wouldn't trust a knock off suit, it has a few issues only thing good from that set was the chair, cat and rose. :rotfl

Always use screen reference's if possible.:)

Re: YUNSIL- Vito Corleone tuxedo DEPOSIT DEADLINE MAY 13

And yet even the chair alone was a little unstable LOL.

Re: YUNSIL- Vito Corleone tuxedo DEPOSIT DEADLINE MAY 13

the knockoff suit with some modding of the pant length and a whole bunch of bulk cut out of the inside gave me this result.. an improvment over the HT, but nowhere near the calibur of the great stuff from CK and Yunsil

Is your build with the modded KO suit on a 21, Mike?

Original ht godfather body is 21?

The original body is either on the original TTM01 or the TTM18 Narrow (not positive which because I never had to take the fat suit off).

Chili's going to have this tailored to a 21 with the original fat-suit

Re: YUNSIL- Vito Corleone tuxedo LIST CLOSED

Chili I found that Vitos neck is thicker than most 1/6 sculpts, it doesn't fit into several other of my Yunsil pieces being too large for the collar. Wondering if you sent Yunsil the sculpt as well with the fatsuit and body?

hey man, i didnt actually, but i will be receiving the prototype for fitting before the run is made, so we will make sure it fits! Good observation though thanks for letting me know!

and yes, the original body was the old truetype design, with the bigger shoulders. The reason the 21 is more appropriate is because the arms fill out the suit better, and when combined with the fat suit give an overall stocky build.

Don't want to re-ignite the debate, but just wanted to say I'm pretty happy with my recently-painted-by-Paul Prentice Rocco sculpt. Gives me a bit more of an "in the garden/we'll get there pop" Vito feel, but I think it's great.
