Production starts next year around March or April. The blueprints below show the joints under the skin.

Cost of the figure is determined to be around $250 shipped. Details will progress as figure comes along and tbh I may have other artists contribute to this as well.

Specs: 1/6 Velociraptor with jointed body and rubber skin.

This will be a daunting project, first the whole body will have to be sculpted head to tail. Then mold and rubber cast it in two halfs. There will be much alterations to True Type Slims as well as fabrication in joints. I hope I can do it!

I will update from time to time on how much is in funds till I reach goal. Plz visit site as well for updates.

Amazing that no one knows this scene

K I've had this idea for quite some time.

My plan is to make the first 1:6 Fully Articulated Velociraptor. I've been looking thru Stan Winston's designs and have concluded that this could be done.

This picture demonstrates the template to build a 1:1 suit. I would like to take this same idea and incorporate it in 1:6.

Use a prometheous body with a good telephone line from Home dept for tail and neck maybe arms. Find a good basis body to make a rubber skin pull over. Viola.

Any interest in this still? I mean I might be able to pull it off just saying... HT Stand included as well... if I can find any.

Yeppers, prototype should be ready next year. :) Right now just gathering funds for this. :D

I am beyond interested in the concept, but what other work do you have to show? Have you ever attempted sculpting before? Rubber casting? Any images of past work? I just looked around your site and saw exactly nothing, and I'm not joining up for a forum I'll never use just so I can see some pics(maybe?).

$250 sounds like a pipe dream, TBH- assuming you're using other people for various portions of the prototyping- sculptor, caster, etc, sounds like just a single prototype alone would cost at least $3000. If you are a decent paleo artist and sculptor you can obviously cut this down considerably, but like I said, more info needed! Especially if you expect people to donate funds.

Yeah, I had a lot of the same concerns and was debating whether to post or not. Definitely not trying to be a downer but the basic idea seems to be something like what HT did for the Hulk but without their massive amount of experience, infrastructure and economy of scale. ($250.00, as well, for a custom like this... doubtful. If you can pull it off you'll be charging well in excess of that considering what custom artists are charging for humanoids.) Hope you can pull it off, RavenEye, but would like to see a ton more specifics.

Using a true type as an articulated base is, I think, a genius idea. I hope I'm not stepping on toes but here's my theory on how it should be produced...neither method is easy by any means but I think doable.

-Obtain the appropriately sized true type and lock it in the position necessary for the raptor and use that as a base so that the sculpture is sure to fit the body during assembly. (Make sure to sculpt slightly over the size you wish to achieve because shrinkage will occur with latex)

-create an ultracal mold and slush cast in latex.

-augment the true type with the head and tail skeleton.

- use foam padding to build the muscle structure.

-fit the latex skin on the padded armature then seam and paint it, maybe add some glass eyes.

Basically the same technique used for stop motion puppets just a little more low-tech.

Cost of goods would be pretty low.

Another method would be to sculpt, mold in fiberglass, suspend a clean/ posed true type in the mold, and inject silicone.

Cost of goods is still pretty low. There's not a whole lot of profit for the current price point, but this is for the love of JP!

Actually the price point is lowest it is considered to be offered and may be subject to change. However if the cost of materials gets around where I think it will should still in $250-300 range. I understand the skepticism upon this and no I don't have a lot of work in sculpting to showcase. Though I hope to have this product made, a sculptor/caster with 20 years of experience gave me a quote for this of $1000 for sculpting and additional should be no more than $250 at least. And true types go for $60 so 6 of them would be $360. Paints would be done by me. Packaging is cheap as well. However if it does cost more than $2000, I would still like to offer this to the general public for a low price if I can. As for donation box on my website, it's not like I'm asking for a handout. If people just donate a $1 it's appreciated! If $0 it's still appreciated. lol

Sending ya pm Caine.
