Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

For Roberts Triad's Zorro outfit will work well, for Inigo, the Jack sparrow boots and pants are what I used.

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

I'm trying to decide which pieces from the Triad Zorro I want to track down for DPR. The shirt and pants are a no brainer, but the boots are all wrong, and the gloves look to be too long (but could be modified). I guess the sword and scabbard would work as well. Thinking of using the Jack Sparrow boots and sash died black to complete the look. Gonna throw it all on a HT TTM19 (using TT Advanced arms).

I forgot to respond to your PM on the subject. :panic:

That sounds about right. Shirt and pants for sure (although I am disappointed that the shirt will never billow at the sleeves like they should).

I like the gloves. But you might be right about needing modification. I would be curious to see what other options there were.

I think the sword is a pretty close match.

Great idea with the Jack Sparrow boots and sash! :hi5:

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

Since the sword is already being made, I am definitely interested. I would love to have Buttercup (being the namesake of the film and all) to go with him.

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

Oh, you'll get a ButterCup, I'll start her after these 2 heads are done. :hi5:

Wow. Fantastic. :hi5:

I am trying to learn to make doll wigs for characters with longer hair. I know some male collectors really, really, really dislike 'real' hair, but her hair was so long, that sculpting it might be difficult. Interested to see what route you choose.

BTW: Very clever approach simply sculpting a hand with hilt.

Yeah, I agree. I like. Just attach it to a HT-style wrist peg and you're all set.

Interested as well, Rocco. Throw me on the list. Great likenesses!

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

I'd actually like the swords without hands as both Inigo and Wesley are ambidextrous and have famous scenes using both left and right hands.

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

Most gun hands will hold swords. Also the zorro hands which many will use as that will be the costume source for many has sword holding hands.

Gun hands don't hold sword handles very tight. So does the Triad Zorro come with right and left sword hands?

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

Hey Guys,
Sorry about the confusion. That hand was just for placement and size, I'll be making full swords. I'm almost done with Dread Pirate Roberts, he will have a swivel bandana not, so it wont be fixed in only one position.

Thanks again!
Rocco

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

This is fantastic!! I'm definitely interested in both Roberts and Inigo, as well as the sword.

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

Problem is finding hands and gloved hands that can hold a sword.

Exactly. Just one more piece to source. And for some reason those type of gloved hands can be hard to come by. But I'm good either way.

I found some sword holding Hot Toys hands from Prince Dastan for my Dovahkiin from Skyrim. Both left and right. Guess they can be painted black for gloves.

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

I sent out the Man and Black head for molding, Elvis will handle the paint master for my prototype. I'm also sculpting the Boots for Man in Black and Inigo, Ill sculpt a set of hands for Inigo as well.

In the middle of moving again, so Man in Black will be first and Inigo will be ready next month and Buttercup following month... Thats the plan anyway!

Thanks!
Rocco

Re: Dread Pirate Roberts

Wow! Inigo looks great! Can't wait to get these! Also the triad Zorro figure does come with both left and right hands that hold the sword.
