Mj's is definitely too small. The thing I liked about the size of RMs is that it made the regular truetype look slim enough for DDL's physique.

Overall, Rainmans sculpt is superior in my opinion, but I do love MJs too. In my humble opinion, MJ's head on a banner body just does not work, Looks super tiny and makes his body look like Hugh Jackman..

I think the debate is not which one is better. The debate was which one is bigger. Most RM sculpts are quite big compared to other 1/6 sculpts both custom and hot toys / enterbay. Also, when the figure need to be collared up all the way to the neck, I like sculpts with neck rather than neckless. But for v1 due to buttons open, neckless may not have been an option... So I guess that's the best trade off... However for most figures where the neck attachment to shoulder won't be visible, I like sculpts with seamless necks... Godfather, rainman doc holiday, aldo, iminime blondie, tuco, angel eyes, hans landa, whiplash 2 (exception being enterbay leon) ... As soon as you go neckless the words "more toyish" stands out... Most of the terminator sculpts on that tree trunk neck, enterbay scarface etc... All look bobble head is due to a lack of seamless neck...

I've always felt RM's Bill was oversized. Was the first thing I noticed when I first opened mine. Still really like it and it looks great with the coat and hat on. But that's the only way it'll look good.

Is that RM V1 on the right? Look at the improvement of tailoring over a couple years in the industry, if yunsil tackled this again...oh boy, imagine the quality.

It is. I don't think this Iris set can be beat. It's pretty flawless. :lol

Be interesting for sure.

Out of interest, are these sewn with anything like CNC machines, but for stitching. Is it done purely by hand...?

I've often wondered.

I doubt it will be done by hand. Typically you get sewing machines with micro settings etc. but may be I am wrong...
My aunt has some 10 odd high end sewing machines and she is a champ. However she is quite old now but back then for her grand children she Was a champ at getting doll clothes to awesome perfection. (Barbie and other dolls). Infact she would always explain me that when she travels to asia, hand stitching or hand crafting of any stuff infact is much cheaper than using machines etc. unlike in Developed economies where hand stitch , hand made is like considered as extraordinary. For instance when my dad would travel to Asia and when he still does he gets 3-4 suites made for 200 bucks each... Hand crafted and tailored. (Not comparing with doll clothes) but out of 200 probably material cost was 125-150 dollar and for 50 bucks for a 3 piece suite with 2 trial runs and final tailor fitting would be unheard of in developed economies. It's the reverse out there, hand craft of any nature is way way cheaper to produce... Cause labor and talented labor is abundantly available...

Once again not saying what iris did can be achieved by any and everyone, personally, I saw yunsils stitching on v2 and I think, iris really hit this one way way out of the park...

Interesting stuff. By the way, i meant hand fed through a machine, i should have been more specific................ or no hands required because CNC machine takes care of it all.

I know CNC cuts fabric and stuff like that, just wondered if it had got to the stage where it can do a hell of a lot more these days.

Wooooo that way no idea man... My aunt has ones in which you have to hand feed. She says the close minute stitching can be done through some "paddle" size and movement options. But no idea how legends like iris and yunsil wld do...

Sorry I misunderstood the question! ...

Have to say i'd be flawed if anyone did come along and beat it.

I reckon everyone in this thread is over the moon right now. Whether your a RM or MJ person or both, i think everyone got what they wanted. Forgot to thank AXE................... so thank you Axe, and the people behind the scenes who i have no idea who they are for reference material, samples etc.

Oh yeah what Iris did with the clothes really hit it out the park. Its flawless as far as I could tell. Its a beauty. Seriously I have been loving every moment of looking at my Bill the brawler being displayed next to RM Bill v2. So yeah a big thank you to Axe, Iris and Robbie!! I also got to thank my friend Stiff Richards for the RM head sculpt too! :duff

A head sizing pic comparison isn't really a fair comparison if they're on different bodies, taken with different cameras under different lighting conditions, etc. You need to have the same base body and clothing with pictures taken under the same lighting conditions and paint work by the same person. As a great likeness can be lost with subpar paintwork, the wrong body can work with or against the size of the head.

Another thing no one really mentions is that the head needs to be slightly larger, or the bodies slightly tapered, to appear correct with clothing on as 1/6 is generally thicker than the 1:1 counterpart and multiple layers can really change the proportions and make what looked to be proper sizing nude appear pinheaded once dressed.

I just needed to see how each sculpt looked with the iris costume. even though it's tailor for a body type, was just double checking to see if it was also tailored to a head sculpt (if that's a process at all). I have the RM sculpt but after seeing pics, it seems the only thing that's majorly out of place is the size of the hat with the MJ sculpt. sure if Robbie did another hat sculpt for MJ head, this miiiiiiiight be unbeatable bash?

Maaan, does that mean I gotta get the MJ head now? Aaah maan

So mine arrived today....

what a wonderful set, the detail and material she used are outstanding. Whats peoples recommendation on body then? i would get an 18 except i hate non sculpted necks especially with the collar he has.

I've got him on a knock off 19 atm but their necks are too long so i try not to use them either

anyway heres a fast pic of mine, minus belt as i've yet to order one

That looks awesome, I know people been using the Banner bodies. I really do not think the neck looks that bad, you can always cut some of the neck off or shave around it to put the head down further. I bought myself a dremel set just to do tweeks like that, but honestly I think it looks good.

:duff yeah its by no means awful, i just hate how unnatural the arms lay when nothing is in them lol, im going to pick my self up something like that too in the near future.

im just glad to finally have something other than the moes set which pales in comparison

Agree. I think it's pretty awesome as is.

That's how i'll be setting my RM version up when the hat comes. It's great to see it on another body like the 19, and it all looks to fit just fine.

Quick edit. Swap the arms out if they don't lay how you want.

yeah im going to do something with the arms for sure, it all fits fine the waistcoat was a bit of a pain to get on, but it still fits fine, the more i look at it on this body the more the neck isn't bothering me, skin tone is a good match too.

Looks great Stealth. Another thing I love about this set is the tailoring at the shoulders. That extra puff to make him have that square shoulder, human tank look, and also allows for bulkier body types.
