Hi guys, IKE-CON had asked me to do the shield accessory for his Ragnar run and here it is. This is just the prototype, a test to see how making them will go. The run of shields will be perfected now that I know how to make them.

These shields are open to everyone, no matter if you're getting the full set or just the head. If you want one, you can get one.
Shipping for these will be $75 shipped in the US and $85 USD shipped internationally.

These shields are made to fit a certain type of hand. These hands are a Hot Toys gripping hand that can for sure be found on The Wolverine and Thor. Many knockoff and official bodies now come with gripping hands.

I will update with pictures as I begin the run.

If you have any questions or would like to order, PM me or post in the thread.

Do you guys like the brown wood being shown under the red paint like it was scratched or gouged out during battle? The reason I'm asking is because the gouges are already there, the wood is stained, and I'm painting them red now. I'm drybrushing it so it's not too thick and the paint isn't reaching into the holes/scratches. I think it makes it look more authentic and realistic, but you guys should have the final say. Let me know your thoughts!

Also, if anyone wants a blue shield (or an extra shield) let me know!

My thoughts as well. I'll take a picture and show you guys in the morning. Some spots will have to be re-stained and repainted, but I think you guys will really like them.

I might try a little light airbrushing on one to make it look dirty like the ones in my previous post.

Here's a WIP of one. I'll have to use a little brush and get some stain in the light spots. That's the natural oak showing.

If I'm counting correctly, I have 1 shield left before the run is all paid for. This will either be my shield or I'll sell to someone that wants it.

I'll just update everyone with what's been going on. :)

Working on them today and tomorrow to try and get them finished. I had to redo a few wood pieces after painting them because they soaked in too much paint and warped. I had also been experimenting with magnets for the handle. My idea was to have a magnet in the supports so it could hold it and be taken off if you wanted the shield on his back. I bought some of those neodymium magnets small enough to fit on a 1/8th" square. They seemed strong enough at first but the handle fell off after a while. So now it'll have to go back to being glued on unless someone has a suggestion. There's only 2 points that the magnets can attach to, so the solution isn't "more magnets."

So that's where I'm at. All the pieces are glued on and the leather is on. I'm just waiting on the side V parts of the hand guard and the handle.
That's been the main hold up lately. If something can go wrong, it will.

It's getting close to crunch time. I paid an extra $50 to geewhiz to fedex the
outfits as soon as they're done. And Ski will be starting on the heads. So
maybe, that 1st week of December could be possible, it's going to be close.

So it would be nice to have my shields, otherwise, it just doesn't feel right....:rotfl
