Got to say, I keep looking at the pictures Denny posted a few pages back, and while the unpainted sculpt was 100% Cumberbatch, I can't see him in the painted version. Sacrilege I know, but the eyes make the whole thing look off, and I mean completely off. Hope it's just some bad photography.

I wouldn't say the photography is "bad" by any stretch, but it does seem like the shadows are throwing the likeness off a tad.

Here is a painted sample under natural lighting, no denying that likeness!

you will like it more in hand ^^

when the final one is displayed at famcon. you will see more photos from people.

Unaltered images. You can see that the eyes have a grayish quality

With regard to the photography... let me express my frustration.... If i shoot the figures with shadows to show sculpt contour some people complain that the pictures are TOO MOODY. If I shoot the figures with Key light and fill in order to 'properly' show the sculpt, then its too flat and the sculpt doesn't look like the likeness. Seems I cannot win. Of better yet... I can't please everyone.

Wow, Marfmaster and Denny, thanks for responding to my question and posting the new image. It looks incredible - it's almost unreal how lifelike that head looks, as if it was photoshopped in there. Congrats on creating an amazing piece, I will certainly be interested if you offer the head. And Wake, my apologies for making you feel criticised, but you are right, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please everyone! I am pleased now, though! Love the way the sculpt captures Sherlock's resolute nature.

Thanks for responding to my post so professionally and with good humour, I appreciate it. Good luck with this piece, although I don't think you're going to need it!

Why didnt this get released with the Star Trek figures I loved Kahnnnnnnnn!!!!!!!

i'LL be getting there early for this one....:)
I was thinking of doing the same, but am anticipating extremely high demand for the figure this Saturday.

So since it'll be available for sale later(?), I can wait. Good luck to everyone trying to get it though!

yup! Now I'm waiting for the pictures, c'mon people let's see em!
