Imo this is not a great likeness,it's ok but not on Adams level, but really Adam is in a class by himself.i think this looks good from certain angles, but then again so did hot toys slicked hair bank robber sculpt and there cop attempt.from straight on the slicked hair bank robber sculpt looks dead on to the pic they used as reference(the shot of heath clapping)but from other angles you can see what is off.a major peeve of mine with this and most of the ht sculpts is they use a pic of the joker as a reference.by doing this they add lines into the sculpt that are technically only in the paint.you can really notice this in the scars of mj 12s sculpt.anyway I painted one of mine up like the mob scene.im going to attempt to add some real hair, not sure how that's gonna look on this but I'm gonna try it anyway

Great paint job Steve. :clap

Despite so many paint jobs being referred to as 'mob scene' paint, this is probably the first time I've seen it truly attempted. The gigantic black of the eyes in the mob scene is so distinctive, it somehow shows the sculpt's inaccuracies. I'm not doing a side by side comparison, but the paint job looks very accurate, in terms of the eye black in that scene. And yet on the sculpt, it just looks... odd.

Yeah Steve is one of the very few who can paint the Mob make up accurately. Everyone else mainly just paints the party scene make up. I guess the reason it looks odd is because the sculpt is not accurate enough. :dunno

U did a great Job there Steve, the hair looks great. ;)

Re: 1:6 Heath Ledger as The Joker Painted/Unpainted Headsculpt (PAINTING WIP PICTURES

I was looking at the pics and was wondering if it's possible for the painter to paint the base hair dirty/rusty blonde, instead of dark brown / black like in the pic? I think it'll really help to make the sculpt looks more accurate, giving the semi bald, scalpy look like Adam's:

I don't think you'll get too much of a scalpy look with this sculpt because the hairline isn't very accurate. Heath's hairline was significantly more receded than this sculpt portrays. The HT sculpt has a more accurate hairline.

Couldn't have said it better myself. :(

Yes the artist doesnt want to head into other projects before completing all the orders he got in the first shot so he is working on the painted ones, which should complete shipping around July.

Its extremely difficult to see in those pics, but from what I can see it looks like Steve did an excellent job at blending the real hair in with the sculpted.

That's great to hear. Does that mean that unpainted versions with the hairgap filled will be shipping sometime in June?

Agreed, the blending looks great. I've been putting that on the backburner for years, although I've had the tibetan lamb wool in my parts box for ages. This might finally be the incentive to try it out myself as well.
