Well maybe that's part of the reason for such high prices. The artist gets all the profit he can upfront, anticipating this. But yeah, it sucks all the way around.

Please, no one buy this and support this guy. If you do, then you're not showing any real respect for the custom artists that make the great stuff we enjoy around here.
This ebay seller Kit Chen gets every hot toys head and has the recast available a few week after they are released and they are painted. I saw this head posted on OSR earlier today and was like no way he got that! Usually he only recasts hot toys and big compaines....This is crazy to rip off a custom artist or maybe the artist made a deal with him to produce them....? I know the guy has to order a ton of them because his heads come painted very similar to a factory job....crappie than HT always but not done by 1 dude
I saved these and sent them to my buddy Marf right away...I was like is this the same sculpt?

Ugh, this sucks. I was thinking about selling my spot too. Small chance of that happening now. Same goes for re-sell value, if that is what needed to be done one day.

I really hate to hear this but I (Leung Ka Fu) for one have to step up this time and it's nothing to do with me and sure Axe and MJ know they are taking care of my case earlier... and I loves MJ works and people who know me well do realised I support custom work for the past years....

honestly, doesnt trouble me that much as a buyer. I wouldnt pay $40 dollars for the crap paint job on the recast, and it certainly isnt an upgrade from the HT version, if the final paint looks like the proto, it will be a for sure upgrade and worth the price tag.

People who are getting the original sculpt should be happy they are getting it for THEIR collection. Not for resale, not as some sort of value investment. I don't buy figures to then sell them so maybe my point of view is different. It is disappointing for the artist that his work is ripped off and he doesn't get any $ from that.
Are these shipping already? How could a recaster get it so quickly?
