Recasters suck no doubt. But that doesn't concern me one bit. My money went to MJ solely for my confidence with his sculpt work and paint job. The quality counts, not the resale value. Look forward to see the painted ones shipping.

OK let me just step in and make some things clear.

1. This seems to be a badly painted copy of our original unpainted cast. It is being shown like this for orders. If this is produced in mass PVC it will distort much worse than it already shows here due to lens distortion and the factory paint apps will I'm pretty sure be even worse.

2. It seems one of the people we sold it to is the culprit or the supplier of this recasting nexus. I don't want to take names now however since I keep a detailed list and while considering certain things. I have my suspicious who it is and I will forward the proof and details to the mods here.

3. I know it is a sad thing and I would appeal to buy the original artists work because in terms of quality and finish, the mass produced recast will not hold up at all.

I did consider this would/could happen when o started out the project because of the mass appeal of Joker. However it is disappointing when it is a member of our community who ends up as a supplier.

P.S. I would like to make my displeasure known about a collector who supposedly is the true art connoisseur and holds himself above others and comes up with this whole situation with 'karma is a *****'. Yes turbo.VS.ozone you seem to be taking particular glee that this happened. Your glee in such things show your actual mentality. Thank you for showing what a gem you are to this community.

FWIW, putting pieces together from various places. iyiyyi has said over at OSW that the recasts he gets are from Hot Toys' own factory, essentially they "fell off the assembly line". Whether they are heads that didn't pass QC or are second-runs once the official HT production is over is anyone's guess. It's already been speculated that MJ is a "professional" sculptor, so I'm just guessing here that because of the high level of interest in this sculpt, MJ sent the sculpt to this factory to be produced, and it got out from there.

It's entirely possible that a customer did not recast the sculpt.

Frankly speaking, I don't find it funny at all:mad:

well not to offend anyone, what I meant was the dramatic turnout how MJ pointed out 2 people and both discounted the act was humourous. Either way, not holding you against anything if that's what I'm coming off as, I apologize.

And since MJ and axe work closely on this, i'm sure MJ will let Axe know if he indeed send the sculpt to a factory to be casted.

That is incorrect. Maybe the word professional means different to you but the artist knows exactly what it is. He took a hand made custom commission. He is doing each of this with time and quality. Sending it off in a factory is not what he will do. Besides you probably don't know how it works. The artist has mentioned to me his disappointment that it happened. Also have you considered why he would sabotage his own sales for eBay where he has no control of revenue?!?

Don't make insinuations of such malicious nature please.

Wow someone is here is very shameless. This is disappointing but at least for the price were getting a pretty good paint job. Actually the paint job is amazing and the recast really doesn't look very good. Also I'm happy knowing my money supported a custom artist who might be inclined to do more work in the future

I'd hope it'd be pretty good for the price it is.

Does anyone have theirs yet?

No apologise needed, I just felt this recast thing is a serious issue and no jokes should be made. imo.

Well, as addressed in fb, I shall do whatever needs to help MJ find out who's behind all this, it's really sad to hear such thing that may possible ruining all the hard works from MJ.

how dare !!
I'm so sorry about this happen .. If it possible to find the thief or recaster, ...
Is there the way to find out in the only orderer buying this sculpt ?
first, I swear that I didn't

Dont worry, we have a detailed list of buyers, and we have a very good suspect. Thank you for your concern.

Axe, don't worry about me buddy.....Worry about the long list of people you owe $300 dollars to for a sculpt that they haven't even yet received that's already now selling on eBay for $39.99. That should be your concern.

I knew it wasn't going to be a good idea to do business with you representing some sculptor who wanted to remain unknown, peddling goods on this forum as if you were doing us a favor for those outrageous prices with no accountability whatsoever. Not sending you dollar 1 and avoiding your "anonymous" projects was the best decision any forum member could have made. So yea....karma is a B. Good luck with your mess.

Man I wish I could get my $122 back. :(

On the bright side, none of the paint jobs on this recast sculpt look as high quality as the one we are suppose to be buying so if is anyone willing to take my spot at least u will be buying one with a high quality paint job.

I always know it will eventually come to this somehow.
But for it to come this fast is saddening.

Now there is a good chance that the Indy and Bill project will get cancelled I suppose.
Also losing another talented sculptor.

I wish the finished pieces are in high quality as the proto. At least we buyers know where our money are spent on.

How much more of a difference will it really have from what's already selling for $37 bucks on eBay now? That is a picture of the original sculpt with a commercial paint up isn't it? That's a painted up original. How did they get access to it if these were supposed to be cast 5 at a time for quality assurance and to preserve fine sculpt details.....? Looks like that original was shipped off to some factory some where to be mass produced.
