I think that most custom stuff is way overpriced. I buy them, as well as some knock offs, but I can tell you that every time in pay for a Ht or expensive custom, I say to myself "what a stupid idiot I am to get so easily swindled"!

But, hey, I'm not trying to pick up a fight with anyone! What I was just trying to say in the end is that this niche has become a niche for wealthy people and I think it's just sad. It's no longer a hobby of amateurs like it should be. It's become a way for many to do business. And I hate that! This should be a hobby where we help each other getting the best possible figure, not extort as much money from a gullible crowd.

As I said in another thread, look at the prices offered by Trevor! And don't you guys dare tell me he isn't the Ferrari of Ferraris! If I had only a fraction of his talent, I would flood the market with custom heads for $30 (the price I sell mine for, worldwide shipping included), just to show that, no, it's not worth what people sell them for and it's a hobby for me, not a way to make money from fellow collectors!

So am I awful for thinking that? If so, then I'm proud to be!

I won't talk anymore and reply about it, because as I said, not trying to fight or Chang people's mind. They won't and I won't. It's to late for that! The business gangrene has permeated this milieu too far and is here to stay. I'll play by these rules, and by the recasters too, whatever suits me best!

Well, everybody can't be a good person, I certainly am not as I buy recasts!

Truth is artists are now asking so much that sometime, if you want something, you don't have much choice left! It's sometimes the only way to make a character you want!
Making limited run and extremely expensive stuff is something I'll never understand. You guys would sell so much more if it were affordable in the first place. Somehow, people turn to recasters because that's the only way they can afford it.

Now I understand your point. You're making art and Art is expensive. But do you seriously think it's art? For me, it's always been a toy hobby, and nothing else? I also understand that other people may think that way too.

God knows I've spend my share on figs, custom and otherwise, genuine and recast, sometimes both as I usually buy multiple for customs, but tha prices have soared so much that it's become hard to keep up for most of us. When HT started, some of their figs sold for about $100. Now you're lucky is the price is $250.

And sculptors are going the same way. There used to be a time when you could get a hs for $50. Now people are asking $300.

I'm truly sorry for those who got ripped there, honestly, but with this hobby becoming a luxury activity, sadly this is bound to happen.

but I think in the exact same way.. and is so sad to see that this amazing hobby is to became (or better it is already) mercenary... for lucky is only a small group of you... that thinks in that way..
these are only amazing dolls/action figures..
I am a collector of figures since of my childhood.. but people are thinking about an investement .. what sadness

No they mean this guy that goes by the name of Kit Chan, who was the one responsible for doing a recast of this sculpt.

Take some friendly advice and just be careful what you say and the way you say it as you might come across as a dictator.

I agree people shouldn't buy these for investment purposes if the price of the figure increases then that should just be a bonus not a necessity when considering to buy a figure IMO.

Yeah so would I, they said in the email it will be ready in three weeks but that was over a month and a half ago.

I'm getting Adam Sculpt, so enough Joker for me. Seb did the semi root for one of our SSF Friend, I think it improves the overall look.

Oh I thought you meant you were getting the MJ sculpt one with semi rooted hair. Yeah I was getting Adam's one I wouldn't be keeping this either. Not sure why you bought it in the first place.

I was on the list and paid the deposit before I made a deal with Adam. Then, I was thinking of keeping this for BR 2.0 but to think about it, my favourite pose for BR Joker is the one facing back with him holding the mask, so this sculpt will be over kill for that pose lolz.
