Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

speaking of outfit...C'MON WeAreToyz! Get on it! :lol

please?:monkey3

My thoughts exactly.

If Yunsil is doing another Wonka outfit, then surely enough interest would maybe make a fighting Butcher outfit a reality.

Wouldn't have to be exactly the same. The pants could have the leather on the butt added and up the back of the leg and straps for under the boots. Waistcoat could be a little different also.

I want in!!!

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

oh my.... this is an interesting topic. Wondered when something like this would happen. Rainmans "arguably" most valuable and rare pieces - getting devalued by a 2nd full run of outfits. ;) interesting.... :monkey1

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

Well in fairness, the artist apparently just did this sculpt for his own purposes, not with a real intention of selling. Ankit posted pics, and everyone went crazy saying they desperately wanted it. So, now he's giving folks that opportunity.

I didn't know that. Ok then. Let them go crazy for it. Good for the sculptor and buyers then. (I mean it in the nicest way. No sarcasm)

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

Let's just be straight here... The word 'copied' is a bit too far. The sculpt is based on a movie character, a neutral expression is the basic expression most sculptors do because it comes as a natural progression/decision.
Deeming this as copied from another artist's work is in other words calling it as a 'forgery' literally in the artistic sense.

I am guessing you all are experienced collectors here. I would expect a lot more in terms of what choice of words should be used.

Also unless you have this side by side with the other respected artists version, I don't think you will be able to fairly assess the similarities or the differences.

I know one thing, the level of detail that is on this sculpt is one of the most impressive I have ever seen in custom sculpts.

Personally I would have liked a second project for the artist with me to be a character like Bale as Bruce Wayne as his likeness is tough to capture.

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

it also gets interesting cause im pretty sure yunsil tailored VM's Bill before RM's.

now that is interesting news....

She also did his dandy Bill. Actually, she did all of VM's figs

Thanks guys, that's a nice compliment but not true. I tailored all my early works myself.

Beautiful work on the Bill sculpt!

Best-S.

I would request all members to keep this thread on topic, and not clutter it further because it gets difficult for me to understand who wants to be on the list and who wants to join in on this parallel discussion.

Thank You

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

Glad to see another bill head but as usual it turns into a war. Just enjoy the product its a really great sculpt.

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

Think we should get back on topic :) Do you have any pics of the painted sculpt? looks amazing!

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

At this point I really dont know the status of this, I had asked the artist to show me if he/she does paint it up. Lets hope the artist does a paintjob and shows it up. But very honestly I think Im just going to ask a mod to clean up this thread so that it can be on topic. If people want another thread to vent they are welcome to do so.

I'd be interested to see if he is painted with an eagle eye....... It his sculpt seems to really grab me! Do you have anymore work or is bill you only piece?

Im not really cleared to show his/her previous work. As they are all company works.

The first project I managed to get him/her on for this board was this:

That joker is fabulous

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

Thread cleaned up at OP's request... this is an interest thread for a HEAD only, keep the discussion to that and only that so we don't have more problems.

Re: 1:6 Daniel Day Lewis as Bill The Butcher Headsculpt (Painted/Unpainted)

Why where the comments deleted? We were having a legitimate discussion about this sculpt? I find it hysterical that valid comments are deleted from a forum that is supposed to embrace collectors sharing different viewpoints as long as it's done civil and respectful, instead of what seems now as just being used as some vessel to peddle goods. Is this where we're at? Vendors of goods are gonna start to dictate censorship of VALID comments on a collectors forum! Ok :lol
Dave?
