Yeah I'm in the same boat, if it's a open mouthed head i'd probably pass

I appreciate the open mouth look is one beihn pulls often but as it's going to be my only Reese figure id personally go for a closed mouth head so it fits in more with the rest of the Terminator collection

Maybe something like this could be a kind of 'compromise' when it comes to mouth. I have a really hard time finding any actual movie stills where his mouth is completely closed and it still yells Kyle Reese. Only promo shots seem to have the closed mouth.

I don't mind sculpting any expression, but I want to make sure I make the majority of you happy, so maybe run a poll, and Ill sculpt which ever has the most. Thanks again for running this interest thread for me Ray. You guys are awesome!

I think as he almost doesn't have his mouth shut for the whole movie it should be at least a bit open. Also I think that urgency characterizes his role in the movie so should have that in his face too... Personally I like the Dchung sculpt because of that. The detail and likeness could be better though.
If the face is totally neutral I might not be in for a new one.

I agree - an expression showing a sense of urgency in the face would be a definite buy for me, whereas a static life rendering would be a pass.

I wouldn't normally consider an open mouth sculpt but I think with Reese it will actually work very well.

Thanks Rocco. I know everyone won't get exactly what they want, but maybe there is some middle ground that will work. Maybe something like the pictures slikkerias posted above are a good compromise.

Would everyone who posted an interest please pick one of the three options posted on the first page and I'll update the list.

i could go for this

or this if it looked decent

But obviously whatever the majority are in for, if it's the open mouthed please put me on the list tentatively until the sculpt is shown

I'm interested, but may not commit until a clothing option is sorted out, including shoes. I don't want to put a cheap bash together of this guy. If I do a Reese, I want to do it right, with high quality clothing as well as a sculpt (which I'm sure Rocco will knock out of the park).

DChung Reese is very high quality clothes. Don't think you'll get custom clothes in a higher quality than this tbh - especially not for $150! (Look at the stitching, buttons, belt and working pockets). Might Look oversized to you at first but it actually isn't when you soften the fabric a bit and are aware that the coat he wears in the movie is actually quite oversized. And shoes are amazing!
I personally is quite satisfied with this clothes.
You can buy him on eBay.
I have repainted the pants and touched up the head - made him sweat a bit too.

For those who want the outfit, if it can't be found on ebay when you're looking for it, here's the link to buy directly from the website. It's a great set for the price. It's a great set period, but the sculpt suffers just a bit. Most custom clothing sets can go for $250 around here. you get the whole figure, including the shotgun which you would have to customize from several other guns if you wanted the right one.

edit: Just to follow up on what slikkerias said, the outfit is not really "oversized" when you get it in hand. The coat Reese has in the movie is big for him, so is the shirt for that matter. The proportions of the set are probably pretty close to what they should be based on the look in the movie, but the overall look may be a bit exaggerated at 1/6 scale then. Trust me, a well placed straight pin will do wonders if you want a super quick tuck.

Agree! ...but how did you get that 1984 Sarah Conner head!?

The Sarah Connor head is just the Hot Toys T2 Sarah with new hair. I painted the face to look a little less stern. Amazing what just turning the eyebrows up does. The shoes I just customized from a pair I purchased on ebay. Just some paint and some custom Adidas decals from a member here. Clothes I commissioned including her orchid jacket, which is saved for my second Sarah. I added a lot of details like snaps, buttons, and the tie-dye effect to the henley.
