I love the movie, but Regan's not a horror icon to me... more just a victim of circumstance/means to an end. If I ever did break down and get something Exorcist, it'd be Father Karras. The sculpt would have to be out of this world, though.

Totally agreed. One of the things I like about Beto is it doesn't seem possible to browbeat him into doing something he's not interested in. If he does a Regan or Hewitt it'll be because he and Lu are really committed and it'll be done right.
I'm in the same boat. I'm really only interested in a couple more licenses getting this kind of treatment. Maybe Texas Chainsaw, Karras and outside of horror, Deckard and Batty.
You know, the more I think about it, the more I'd be in to seeing that character get a high-end treatment. Jason Miller was brilliant in that role and the character embodies everything I loved about the movie (conflicted about his faith, trying to prioritize taking care of his mom, his scepticism that Regan is possessed, his fortitude, etc.). Definitely one of the few horror movies where I'm more interested in the hero than the villain (aside from Evil Dead). The sculpt would be really tough, though. I'd want to see some of that conflict on his face, but not too much.
