Re: Starkiller The Force Unleashed 2 head sculpt and arena combat gear outfit!!

Raul, they definitely helped! Thanks and the more you can get the better.

As I mentioned, I found this great reference site, but I know it's not the look we're going after:

The more images we can get the better because it'll help nail down the design and materials so we can get as close as possible.

Re: Starkiller The Force Unleashed 2 head sculpt and arena combat gear outfit!!

I think I have most of the costumes unlocked. I'll dig up whatever might be needed. Although I would point out the costume on the other end of that link is from Force Unleashed 1.

Edit: Duh! I think you want arena combat. Realized that when I look at the first page again.

Re: Starkiller The Force Unleashed 2 head sculpt and arena combat gear outfit!!

Correct. He has quite a few costumes. One thing I thought about was the Soul Calibur game. There's a lot of detail in those shots too, but I"m not sure if we want that version of his outfit.

Re: Starkiller The Force Unleashed 2 head sculpt and arena combat gear outfit!!

The arena gear can be unlocked in the game, but the only time it was ever worn was in the original teaser trailer. He has different lightsabers in the trailer than in the game too. I actually think it would have been great to have the arena in the game, it's way too short for such a fun game.

Yeah, I never understood that either.. In every single trailer he has that outfit on, but it never appears in the actual game unless you unlock it. It wasn't even in the arena level :slap if its too much of a hassle, would you guys want to change the costume for the figure to something else?

Re: Starkiller The Force Unleashed 2 head sculpt and arena combat gear outfit!!

It's really up to you guys. Whichever version we choose, we have to find one with some good references and stick to it. :D

Personally, I really wanted the arena gear just because so many people have already done the training gear and Hoth armor to death. However, the Jedi adventure robes from the end of the first game are pretty sweet as well.

The arena outfit is a great choice. He definitley has way too much unlockable gear. So much great stuff to choose from. Obviously the default hero armor outfit has the best reference to work from, which is what I sent. I like all the busy little details, like all the leather pouches and stuff. That would cost alot to get done imo. One of my favorite costumes is from tfu1 and would be extremely easy and incredibly expensive for me to do. That would be the bounty hunter diguise. I'd get a Marmit Boba Fett change up the colors and add the little details. I think everyone that collects 1/6 Star Wars just cringed and now wants to hit me for that idea. :rotfl

That's not too shabby! I just checked ebay and they aren't as expensive as they used to be. I just might have an alternate costume for my figure. :D

Lol I don't want to hit you. Back when the first one came out, that was my favorite alternate costume. If you do end up making one, count me in for one too. :)

I think going with the Arena outfit is probably the best way to go. Not many people have tried that and it's the most marketed version of him (and the version I remember Starkiller from most too). So Arena version it is? :)

There is a good amount of reference for the Arena version so I think we should have enough to start off with.

I say go for it. It's a heavily seen, never promoted costume. They never even made it in 3 3/4, and I would know, I have every Starkiller figure Hasbro has made so far. Very excited to have a large version for the collection.

Alright, so at this point I think the best approach would be to do a full figure of him. Are we using the new HT TTM-21? It makes more sense to just do a complete run of him so I can paint, weather, assemble, make the box, etc. Then to have everyone buy parts and then find someone to paint, find shoes, find hands, etc. If you count up everything, he's around $255 for just the parts and that doesn't include the body, the shoulder armor, hands, shoes or harness. I think we can do it for $485 completed. We might need to get a deposit so I can buy those bodies before they sell out though.

That was my initial plan, but after working with it on Drake, I'm not too wild about that body as I initially thought. The joints are a bit stiff and his torso barely moves. His wrists are really oddly sculpted and looks like a square, but the worst part that I'm not wild about is the neck. They sculpted it straight up and not slightly curved like most people's necks. It doesn't look so bad if you look at it straight on and in pictures, but in hand it looks really awkward. That's just my opinion.

With Starkiller, I think he would benefit from a sculpted neck design. You get more articulation and he has enough clothing where it'll hide up all the joints except at elbow (in front). Another alternative are those new Enfuse bodies. I bought two and used it on my Lone Ranger and it's really nice. The joints are nice and tight compared to similar bodies I've bought on eBay so that's another option. And it's about $20 less than the Hot Toys bodies.

So do you just want to do a full figure like Drake and Sully instead of having everyone go off on their own and buy parts?

Yeah, I think that will save you guys money too because you'll have to hire someone to paint the head, paint the armor, buy shoes, buy hands, hire someone to weather the clothes and when it's all done it's going to cost more. Either way is fine with me. I just figured it's easier on my end since I'll build him the way I would do my own.

I haven't seen those bodies. I'll check them out. Alright, full figure it is then. I'm sure everyone would want it weathered seeing as that's how the outfit is in the game. Would you paint the head and armor as well John? Or do we all have to find someone else

Of course. He'll be a fully complete figure. Jen and I have been looking into getting some custom boxes too so he'll be in a box and fully done and we'll do certificates for everyone on the list also.

I'm pretty relaxed on the payments and all we really need to do is figure out which body we want to go with and buy them. Some bodies sell out faster than others from what I have seen and we should probably secure that end of it. I have to sculpt the hands, feet, sabers and armors after I finish the head so he'll probably be about another month or two out so everyone has some time.
