Unrelated to the outfit, but does anyone know any quality artists (preferably Stateside) accepting paint commissions at a reasonable rate? I've got that shrunken and modded MJ hanging around, unpainted.
Sent you a message. May be of some interest. ??

All of my Indy's are painted by either Jacob Rahmier or Nathan Eakins. My shrunk MJ is a Jacob Rahmier

And what a lovely paint-up that one is. I haven't spoke to Jake in years (not since the "old days" of SSF, but it seems like he's never available. Same with Nathan. LOVE seeing your Indy though. In fact, every time I see it, I think about my unpainted cast of that same sculpt :(

Honestly the thought of any of the good folks here giving money/ infinite time to that creep Nathan really bums me out. Way too many other quality painters out there just as good if not better who aren’t psychos. Jacob is the man though, great guy and amazing artist, ditto for @Onesixthvisage

Yeah, I've never had much dealings with Nathan, just admired his work from afar. In my years of collecting, I've only ever owned (and later sold) one painted sculpt from him and it was bought from someone else.

Beat me to it bud. ???

Would also advise anyone considering reaching out to Nathan to avoid him like the plague.

Jacob is indeed ‘the man’. Unparalleled skill and genuinely lovely to deal with.

Here's another image showing the zip going all the way down.

Thank you, it can be expensive, a long wait and stressful with custom artists but in my experience it has to date always been worth it :D

Thanks for the picture man, the tailor is actually still looking for a zipper that can came all the way down to the jacket, but if he can't find it.. probably we need to accept the current zipper length I'm afraid.

For me, by FAR the most important thing in the zipper is the size of the teeth !!

Not the length or the colour. If it can all be correct, all the better but when the teeth look over sized the jacket immediately just looks like a Hasbro.
All the rest I can live with

Yup, we're also looking into that, that probably something that he can replace.. finger crossed.

the teeth size look ok I think to me and length doesn't bother me either to be honest but if people want it longer and it can be done, all good I guess

Teeth size Is for sure important and if they can be made smaller, it’s a bonus, but dulling it down with a dark wash or matte coat will go a long way to making it seem less noticeable or distracting, so if it ends up being the same as the prototype I’m cool with that

I actually think the teeth on the proto type are fine too, I guess what I was trying to say is that given a choice if the zipper can't be perfect, I would rather the teeth be the correct size than the zipper go all the way down.

By that I mean, I wouldn't like the idea the idea of swapping the current zip with one that goes all the way down but the teeth be larger than they currently are.

It’s a moot point because it’s all finalized and in production and it looks great and I can’t wait... but I’ll throw in my 2 cents here.

I personally can give a damn about a functional zipper I never think of Indiana Jones with a zipped up jacket and know it seems like something that expensive should have that design functionality, but from my perspective aesthetics are always the priority and having a 3D sculpted zipper at the correct scale would allow for it to be painted the correct metal color and still look great.

I think this one looks far, far superior to the last Unproduced Kato one zipper wise already so I’m quite happy. But my plan was always to paint that zipper brown on that Kato one had he released it like he indicated he would. It’s less accurate, but less distracting and doll-like.
