The more i sit here and stare at the sculpt, the more I love it.
Thank you by the way Axe for seeing this joker project through. :hi5:
With us collectors being a fickle bunch when it comes to joker, I'm sure it was exhausting.

It's simple.
I got the sculpt - yaay it's good - i saw your post of promised end result of the interrogation painting - I thought, hey wait, it's supposed to look like that, which is tons better than what I have now!

that's how.

I never made that post everyone else did. My pictures of the painted sculpt were first compared by pictures of the proto paint by chubbyman when I was not even online (check out page 197).

Anyway initially all I did was post pictures (which I totally regret doing now) then everyone said the paint job sucked on mine and was nothing like the proto. So I thought maybe they are right and it wasn't the flash or my poor quality camera but it was actually the paint job was not as good as it was suppose to be. I always thought that it looked a bit crusty looking but thought that was due to the overdone skin texture and not the paint. I was actually shocked to see the response when I came online the next day when I saw how much of a reaction from members on here got from seeing my pictures as there were so many pages filled of complaints about the paint. However, I am not blaming anyone for feeling the way they do, I take full responsibility for causing you guys to panic about receiving it, since my camera is not the best quality and thus, should not taken photos of it in the first place. :slap

So u got the Interrogation scene as well?

Got mine.
I like it a lot!

My overall impression:
Major improvement over the DX11. Looks much better in hand.
I slightly added gloss on his lips, I think it added a nice touch.
The likeness is pretty good, also...my major concern is that in most pictures, he appears to have a lot of texture.
In hand, its not bad at all, definitely much smoother than I anticipated.

My nitpick on the figure is that I wish the flesh color could have had more darker flesh color so that it would have more contrast
to the makeup.
Also, I wish the green on hair could have been a tad brighter.
Overall though, I think the sculpt has a high quality look to it in hand.

Looks great there Fernando, but is it possible for you to take pictures of it in natural lighting? With a good camera of course, not like the crap one I used.

The best one I have ever seen, totally looks like the proto as it has a nice smooth paint job! :rock

Eh, sorry then, I don't mean to blame anyone, especially you. I just wanted to say that I liked it at first but then I saw the prototype painted pic and I thought I wanted what they offered, exactly like that.
Yes, I got the interrogation paint up as well. :)

It is a beautiful sculpt . It is all about that paint job when it comes down to it . I have a unpainted sculpt coming that is am sending to Rahmier84 . I should have some results in the next few weeks.

I cant wait to paint one of these amazing sculpts

No it's cool so far everyone else has and I can understand why but just thought I would clarify that it wasn't me who was initially comparing my painted sculpt with the proto pics.

Yours can't be that bad if it is taken you this long to realize that it isn't as good as the proto. I knew something was off with mine but didn't think it was the paint, just thought the sculpt had way too much skin texture and thus, that is why it looked crusty when messy make up like the interrogation scene make up was painted on.

I am sure your paint job will knock it out of the park, since you totally transformed that EB Joker into something that now looks like Ledger just by repainting it and adding a few hair stands.
Thanks man! I plan on doing the same paintup on this and adding some strands as well.

Yep, and I never said that the paintjob was bad. Not bad at all, i said it's very different with the offered pics.
And when I am willing to spend that much amount of money, it's exactly for that exact result that they offered at first.
But we can forget about that now, MJ's being professional and offered solutions, although he should've done his best at first so there's no need for these things to happen.

Are you repainting that Jacob or is that your paint job I don't know guys $300 that's a lot of money

I'm reserving my judgement after Thrustmaster received his. He has a pretty high standard and a keen eye for details.

Although I've already commented on the paint job, I agree, my final judgment is reserved until his shots. I've never seen a picture of his that did not show the figure in the best possible light and looked amazing. That is of course partly due to his high standard in figures and sculpts.:lecture

He's also good in posing the figures and making it look natural, I sometimes had to double check whether it's the figure or an actual movie promo /pic. :lol

He makes the EB Batman looks amazing, I can't seem to make mine look like his.

you guys are embarrising me with your kind words. i'm really feeling honoured to read such words, although i don't think of earning these compliments. and coming from you both, who i really respect a lot, means even more to me. so thank you a lot! :)

i've got the sculpt today from the customs, and somehow i was scared to open it. scared of what pops out and if i feel dissapointed or not. when i opened the box and took the sculpt from it, my first throught was "not bad". it was a mixture between the former shots here and the shots from the proto. it hadn't that wow effect (paint wise), but it was also not a shockingly bad painting. that was, when i looked at the sculpt in daylight. after watching it and watching it and handling with it, i somehow realized that the painting is changing alot when it comes to the lightning. when i moved the sculpt a bit to the right, and the light catched the sculpt in a different way, the overall look changed tremendous. when i hold the sculpt under a lamp, it looked very near the proto type pictures we've seen. and when i look back at the proto-pics, i'm sure these were taken aswell under a lamp. it's a bit strange, when you hold it up in different lights, that the sculpt can look phenomenal, but then also somehow 'meh' if the daylight catches it badly. the eyes are painted very well, and i guess he used decals for the eyes. i can see a SLIGHT circle around there, and the details of the pupils are too high to be painted by a hand.

the sculpt itself is looking very great. from the front it's not perfect and is lacking somehow a bit of likeness and it's not an Adam sculpt. from the side i would say it looks almost perfect. the paint job could be better. it's very crisp, i do love more the smooth painting on the joker, like adam did, but it could be also more worse then what i've got. the dx11 can't compare to it, mj's sculpt blows that out of the water, so these critics are at a high level. what i also can say is, that it feels and looks better inhand then on pictures. i've tried my best in putting him in good light and also in a similiar light like the proto pictures, so everyone can see that it almost looks the same WHEN the light hits the sculpt right. but it was a pain in the ass to do the sculpt its justice. other sculpts can be photographed much easier. my modified dx11 joker sculpt from rory is a lot photogenic, it looks better then what it looks inhand. this one here is a bit the opposite and it was hard to get some good shots of it.

Thank you very much Steve. As far as another pic, judging by Thrustmaster's pics, it is just like his.

Excellent pics Thrustmaster!!! As always, your pics as breathtaking.

I agree with you completely.
That is why I have suggested LED lighting to several people before.
LED lighting is the difference between having a sculpt look like a toy to a museum looking piece.

Also, just because there is also LED lighting doesnt mean just stick it in the shelf.
You have to find the "SWEET SPOT".
Specially on something like this that has a transparency.
When I put my Joker directly underneath the LED lighting, the face is too "White" that you almost cant see the contrast between the white paint and flesh.
But as I move him a little further back, you now start to see the contrast and more flesh coming through. If you move it way at the back, now the white paint looks too muddy. Its all about finding that "SWEET SPOT" in the shelf.

Also, my feelings were the same regarding the initial impression. I kept going back and forth from wanting to cancel my order, to getting an unpainted sculpt, to wanting it again. And with some of the earlier batches, I was almost wishing I cancelled.
Then when I opened it, it wasnt exactly mindblowing, but my initial reaction is that it looks much better than I thought.
But once he is on the shelf, all futz and with a nice lighting, that's when you can really see that it is pretty much very close to the proto that I wanted.
And as I mentioned on my previous post, the more I stare at it, the more I really start to love it!

Once again man, very impressive Review and pics buddy!
