I too got my interrogation scene paint job...and I'm not even going to lie to you...I'm going to buy the recast blank sculpt and paint it up the way it should have been painted by MJ....what I got was NOTHING like the prototype...the smear going up toward the hair from the right is basically the same color...no sort of blending at all....in any of the other parts....and the lips?!?!?...I almost feel like I have to get this reprinted and I certainly don't want to do that for what I paid for it in trying to support the artist but damn...it almost feels like I have to take this and it feels like a slap to the face....very disappointed and very worried about the bill after receiving this...

I'm actually very jealous at the picture above my post because that's at least somewhat what the proto looked like...not mine...the paint is horrendous!!...I'm VERY pissed about this..!!

I agree with you on that man, paint it up as you if you are not pleased but maybe just get the head you have now repainted instead of buying a recast? Just a suggestion, I give credit where it's due and the sculpt is really nice, i'd give the artist that.

Well I have mine in hand (mob no hair) and it looks pretty good. I mainly chose the mob scene because I wasn't really sure how the interrogation would come out after production and the mob scene seemed like a safer bet. I'm very pleased with my sculpt. I'm at work right now but I'll take some hi-def pics around noon tomorrow. Some people here are not pleased, I'm not really sure what to say to that except it might be MJ's fault for never really showing us a normal picture. I think the proto pictures looked great but they might make the in hand look underwhelming. Also, like I said, I think the interrogation paint is more difficult to capture and also more time consuming but I am 100% happy with the sculpt I have.

Thats what i initially opted as well. At last, some feedback from a guy who actually receive this in hand. :rock

Yeah the proto pics look like they were taken under a microscope and it was really hard to tell what the interrogation paint was going to look like in hand because of how complex it was. I think that is contributing factor to the disappointment. However, I haven't been able to compare mine to the proto pics but it looks as expected in hand and I'm very pleased.

I was SO on the fence to get this, but I have to admit after the MRM fiasco, I am just burnt out (no pun intended ;)) on Ledger Jokers- so I passed on this. Other than the excellent painting on the eyes, my opinion at least is that the haired Interrogation Joker from MRM that I have is superior--just my opinion though. Darkavatar, you have MRM 1:4th HS right?, If I remember you have one of the best of that batch.

Yes I do and it is better than most because it is painted by Steven G.

Looks good there. The interrogation one looks miles better than the one darkavatar posted.

It still looks too white with little to no grey shading at all and it is even less accurate as you can barely see any flesh tones at all. It just looks like white and grey make up and I think the only reason why it looks better than my pictures is because it is taken with a high quality camera. :dunno

I received mine today as well (Mob Paint, no hair extension), and well my opinion is different from some of you here as I really like my sculpt and paint up! In hand this thing is really nice, and I'm quite happy with it. :)

I can see several detailed layers of paint, makeup came out really good. The makeup layers don't appear to be "caked" on like in the above post, the skin texture really comes thru on mine. Now that's not to say some of you guy's are laying or anything like that, I just think even though each sculpt is painted by the same artist doesn't mean each one will come out exactly the same as the other. I believe one may come out better than the next. Sucks to see some of you dudes not happy with your jokers, I know we've all waited a good amount of time for these.

I do agree though with you guy's that those Interrogation paint up's should be showing more flesh, gray/black tones, a bit more of a controlled sloppiness if you will, to make his makeup appear more smeared and blurred.

Sorry no pics at the moment as I only have my iPhone and couldn't get a decent pic that even comes close to showing the quality in hand.

Thanks for your input Mike, I am just wondering why there is no consistency in paint apps as it feels like we are paying $300 for a gamble.

Yes I think the Mob scene has been painted more smoothly.

Paintwork looks good there, nice and smooth and not sloppy but the sculpt looks a bit rough and slightly crusty because there is too much skin texture.

I will be posting my pics when I get back in town on Thursday...but the more I sat there and looked at the paint job and how it varies from headsculpt to headsculpt...it's as if he was on an assembly line and mine happened to get caught at the end...just not cool...mine borders on the one dark avatar received

So far there's a few folks who actually own these and have them in hand, that are pleased with it. In that case, yours might be an isolated case. Perhaps contact axe or the artist and see if they can help you there. Gluck :wave

I don't think Dave is able to help out with stuff like this, but you can try and ask.

I think the artist is planning to do this in the long run and should wanna take care of his customers.

That's my personal experience. You and the others might have different experience than me. I think it'd be best if you can group together then present the case to him.

Someone once called me a lunatic for sharing my opinion, so I will keep it short here. I've been reading this thread silently for LONG LONG TIME. The head is definitely not the same as promo shots, but it's not sub-par either. If Adam Gu is 9/10 or 10/10, I would rate this MJ12 head a 7/10 max. Again please note that I am not an expert.

Hope you enjoy the pics. But if you don't like the heads, I don't really care. No more words from me.

The head looks good to me too, congrats!!
