Yeah I really pissed because so far every pic I have seen the the Mob make up looks nothing like Ledger. I was hoping they were going to show us the interrogation scene paint job before they shipped it out, so if I didn't like it I could back out. Now I have no idea whether this sculpt will look any good with interrogation make up, but I am hoping it does since this sculpt does look like Ledger when there is no make up painted on there. Which is the what pushed me over the edge to buy this. I wish now that I didn't see that recast sculpt with no make up. :gah:

I have mine with the head lifted up to get rid of that duck face and as you can see the jawline doesn't look too bad when the head is tilted upwards.

The DX11 has great potential because apart from the jawline, the head shape overall is accurate to the shape of Ledger's head.

Yeah, but I don't wanna pose him on the display like that just for the sake of seeing the accurate jawline. :lol

Well the pose on the body is boring, but I was only talking about how you pose the head. I really don't see what is funny about having him look up like that. :huh

You'll always see comparison pics of HT/ custom sculpts with the HT sculpt in the worse possible light. PERS eyes usually look horrific with the eyes positioned straight with no white below the iris. Anyway, while I like the MJ sculpt more, and have ragged on the DX11 sculpt before, if I had nothing to go on but that pic above I'd take the HT. At least I know I could get more out of it likeness wise with moving the eyes around. Im not crazy about the Mob paint up at all...

I mean that pose looks kinda awkward with him looking up and his hand placed on the side, don't you think?

Oh it is man the pose on the body is weird, it's not really something I am proud to display, I just haven't bothered to pose it and I was just talking about the head only, not the pose of the whole figure. Perhaps him sitting down at the desk and looking up would be much better?

Next time when I am trying to prove a point, I will just take a pic of figure from the neck up. :D

Lol, I skimmed through when reading comments, you did mention it when you posted it, my bad :lol

Thats a handmade kato shirt right?

Ok so I have got this sculpt today. I use to think this was an improved version of the EB sculpt but I think the EB sculpt is actually better IMO. This just doesn't capture the core likeness of Ledger, whereas the EB sculpt pretty much does.

Here is my little review of it. As you see by the pics I got the interrogation version.

Pros.

Paintwork isn't sloppy around the lips.

Profile looks to be nearly dead on to Ledger that it is scarey.

Very realistic sculpt, looks like a work of art and not a toy like the DX11 does.

Cons

I can't see much likeness to Ledger from front on when make up is painted on, thus I don't think the likeness on this sculpt is good enough to show through the make up.

Eyes look too small

Head shape is similar to Bank Robber Joker in that it has a long face, but jaw shape is wider and has puffy cheeks.

Has a giraffe neck

Neck doesn't fit the Hot Toys neck Adapter, I had to wrap some tape around the neck adapter to get a tight fit.

Too much skin texture, giving a rough appearance of the sculpt, making it hard to achieve a smooth paint job.

Paint job not as good as the proto.

Value.

The sculpt itself is still very realistic and probably better than any of Hot Toys ones as far as realism and likeness goes overall. The paint job is good but not worth $200.

Summary.

I think the likeness is better than the DX11 stock sculpt but not better than the DX11 mod sculpt in my avatar. I bought this because I was looking for a realistic alternative to the DX11, since the only problem I had with the DX11 other than the duck face was that it looked too much like a toy due to the PERS.

Anyway here are some pics, so judge for yourselves. Enjoy. ;)

It's probably the flash washing out the detail, but that honestly doesn't look like a $150 paint-job to me. :dunno

It's the flash, trust me the paint job is good. For instance, although the eyes are tiny the irises are highly detailed and have a very realistic glossy finish to them that makes them almost life like.

I wish I had a better camera to take pics of it. But I took pics of it just to show what the sculpt looks like with that make up scene as far as accuracy goes, since the first run of these were painted sloppy with red make around the mouth being smeared over the top of the lips.

Not feeling it at all, man. Sorry. Just my opinion but the paint work doesn't look as good as the proto. It doesn't even look like the same person painted it....

Trust me it's just the flash. Hopefully someone with a better camera can take higher quality pics. The problem with this sculpt is that there is too much skin texture so the paint job will look rough when you take a picture of it with the flash.

If you say so. Ill keep an open mind and check in for more pics, but the paint doesn't look as sophisticated as the proto to me. The colors aren't blended as good and some parts look heavy handed.

Do you have a camera on your phone? You could just take the sculpt outside in the light and take a pic of it without flash....
I'd be curious to see it.

Those photos were not taken in good lighting either, all I can say is that the paint job is similar to this.

Can you specify which parts?

I do have one on the phone but it s not that good, I might take one outside, but I am hoping other people will take a pic of theirs. I must admit though the paint job is not as good as this.

Which is better than MJ's proto.

Just took some more pics in better lighting without the flash.

Hmm I think you are right Fiend, the proto had more greys in in it. This just looks too white. I would still say it's a good paint job but not real good like Dream works and the proto. Nevertheless, the eyes are painted really well though.
