I think an easy solution to this mess is let's figure out how this happened,how many unpainted heads with the hair pieces were sold?eliminate all the people who bought more than 1(if they were the Recaster they probly would have only gotten 1)then how many are left?
Some one has to. I'm going to go through the thread and take notes.

Maybe if the reputation system actually worked the repeat behavior could be singled out. This whole business is just unfortunate. As far as conspiracy theories and whatnot… i also err on the side of occam's razor. The simplest explanation is almost always the correct one. In this case, the simplest explanation is that in the intervening month between shipping the original castings and now a pro recasting factory go hold of the sculpt. That's it. No maliciousness it seems to me. But my opinion.
Reputation system has the same utility as buyer feedback on eBay. People were moaning about the negative rep issue, so Dave removed it. But I definitely agree with you, Omar.

The negative rep if warranted is the REASON for the reputation system. Look… no one is perfect… I theorize i would have had two or three (at least) offer me negative reputation… but Id also have gotten lots of good rep too. In the end the score would be an accurate representation of what really goes on around here.
This really sucks that this head is already being recasted, I can't believe this crap!
I'm still glad I ordered a painted HS from MJ as I know the quality will be awesome and help me finally complete my Joker. I just hope Axe and MJ continue to do what they do and help bring us awesome HS! I will always continue to support the original artist and the people that make this possible for us to have these fanatic HS and or items in our collections.
Maybe some drastic measures need to be taken by the artist in the future like only offering painted cast. This would cut out a lot of people from being able to afford it but maybe it's a step that needs to be taken.
If anyone thinks by buying that Piece Of **** Copy on Ebay will look as good as the original in terms of paint apps, & casting quality then you must be how should I say this, umm "SpECiaL IN tHe HeAD".:cuckoo:

I still believe if anyone who receives a painted HS from MJ ever wanted for some reason to sell it in the future, that the HS would still hold it's value! This HS is in the Top 3 Best ever made, the other 2 being Adams and BobbyC.

I find this astounding. Are you'll seriously asking for a refund ? I would love to see you'll have the bal ls to do that to Trevor and Rainman cause their work gets recasted most often.
And how in this world is it the OPs fault ? Its really sad to see people queuing up for a refund like a bunch of Hawks.

honestly I still dont see how anyone could have thought they got ripped off or had regrets in purchasing because of this. Again, you spent the $300 to UPGRADE your Joker. how can anyone think that recast paint job is an upgrade??? Its obviously not, so in buying it, you waste $30 and get no upgrade in return.
the only issue that should have concerned people who are excited for all the announced upcoming projects was to support Ankit and MJ in finding the guilty party, even if your motivations were selfish and just so the future projects could still be carried out, everybody wins and the recaster is found. But unfortunately, thats not the case and projects have been cancelled
again, appreciate the run you organized Ankit, and your great talent MJ, hopefully this kind of mess can be avoided in the future!

I want a name. No need to keep it quiet unless DLDave said to. As an artist I would like to know if I should avoid people to sell to.
This recast beast will never die. The bulk of these are sold in Chinese markets and I don't think the ethics of it all are that big of a deal there. It's unfortunate but it's fact I am afraid.
So if there is a way to at least help avoid placing our works in the hands of recast suppliers directly it would be appreciated.
