The people asking for refunds...how does a cheap recast change your situation? If you really don't want the sculpt then just leave your deposit and buy the recast. Mj's product is still coming as promised. However, someone mentioned giving people on the list something extra and while I don't know what that could be, I think it would be a great show of good faith because obviously they don't have to

I want a name. No need to keep it quiet unless DLDave said to. As an artist I would like to know if I should avoid people to sell to.

This recast beast will never die. The bulk of these are sold in Chinese markets and I don't think the ethics of it all are that big of a deal there. It's unfortunate but it's fact I am afraid.

So if there is a way to at least help avoid placing our works in the hands of recast suppliers directly it would be appreciated.

I agree. At least let some of us that offer customs know so we know to avoid them. Doesn't need to be widespread, god knows this board has enough drama as it is.

That's good. For what it's worth I think you've handled this like a champ. When things go south it seems a lot of times the OP will avoid the thread like the plague. But you've been in here every step of the way trying to reach some kind of resolution, which to me speaks volumes. It's too bad others can't see that.

If this is sold out, and everyone has paid, and everyone is going to get their originals.... I think I am missing the problem here. is it that other people will get a ****tier version of the same sculpt? Why would anyone who bought this originally care if it got recasted? You have an original that you were perfectly happy with before headplay decided to recast.

Being an artist myself, I see how taking and selling someones work can be frustrating for the artist, especially if he isn't seeing anything monetarily... Although this is unlicensed and he has no legal grounds since it is a DC copyrighted character.

as for the buyers though, i dont see much room for complaining. You are still getting originals, nothing changed for you guys....... unless you want the $40 one instead.... hmm... thought this was about supporting the artists? :dunno

People are getting what they paid for still. If they are that butt hurt about it demanding refunds then its because the resale value will be slightly lower, which is a terrible reason to buy amazing art like this anyways.

Its an unfortunate situation you never want to see an artist get ripped off but these heads will look nothing alike.

Imagine if headplay and these ebay sellers started selling recasted/painted Rainman heads for 40$? Do you seriously think that would affect the value of a Rainman/Aeon painted head? There would be NO comparison between the paint apps, and there will be none with these two.

Even if he was banned he could just make another account. And you can't ban people for having their own opinion. he isn't the culprit here, he is just giving his (negative) two cents on the situation. He can say what he wants... i thought this was 'MURICA.
