Understand first that I am not trying to blast you or make anyone feel bad... but sure: hand signed pieces with CoAs, real hair, some kind of extra(s) .... anything would be better than nothing. Nobody is suggesting that you somehow eat your margins, personally I don't care about any type of refund. I just think some kind of a gesture (that would probably cost $10-$25 max/per) goes a long way in the customer service department. This is an expensive piece. And I'm sure if you paid $300 for something that was solicited as being exclusive, definitive and closed, only to see a version of it hit the market for 1/8th the price you wouldn't be happy about it either. I know the paint should be superior to the factory, but I've never paid $250 for a paint job. $50, $75, $100, sure. Beyond that it's resculpt, rehair, etc.

While I understand that you feel the victim here (your concept and sculpt was ripped off and recast). That would piss me off to no end as well. But that's part of the game these days. The HT recasts are showing up months prior to release (clearly those breaches are at factory level). But the fact remains that you have been paid. You were also paid by many folks "after" the recast came to light, because, at least from my perspective, people wanted to honor commitment made to the project and team. I'm sure there were some who pulled up stakes, asked for refunds or didn't pay the balance. BUT there seems to have been nothing to me that said "look unfortunately we were shafted by some unscrupulous person along the way, but to make it up to you folks who are sticking by us we are going to do X (take suggestions, make a poll, whatever)." To me this is just good customer service. So yes, if it were me I would be trying to find some way to make it "right" with folks.

Regarding inventory control, you're talking about a pretty finite universe here. I don't know your model or who's hands what passes through so apologies if I over simplify, but there is a list of buyers and those who received what and when, there's whoever did the molding and casting, and there's whoever else was involved. So again if it were me that's what I would start with. Somehow, somewhere early along the way it got to someone who had the sole motivation of recasting and reselling. And without weeding through this thread (because I really only check it sporadically), I don't know if that person(s) has been identified. If they have they should be outed if for no other reason as a service to the community.

But I've spent far too much time on this subject as it is. Like I said, I'm really not out to argue about this. To me it's little more than a minor annoyance. I've paid. I'll get what I get, and that will likely be the last word on this as I move on to other things.

I sincerely wish you the best with the remainder of this project and your future endeavors.
Maybe you dont know but CoA's are being given... and real hair? How would you like to wait for over a year for that? Would you be comfortable with that?

Kit Chen is the one selling the recasts... shameful. And so many people are so happy about it, and I can see some familiar faces of OSR there... I think he is also a member here. Makes good money recasting HT and other custom sculpts...

wow, despicable. As far as extras go, I don't know what could possibly be on the table. Someone should propose an extra instead of everybody just asking for one. Personally, I have no idea

Those recast lack the quality of the original in the hair department. The add hair piece looks like dogsh#t compared to the original.

didn't he come on here to prove his innocence this one time? But no doubt he's recasting or selling recasts. He sees no shame in it.

he laid his point out still in a good manner man, I don't think you should pick a single point and got pissed about it. he only suggested real hair, and yes that's not possible with the time frame, so just ignore it. but took what he said in general into consideration.

I see a lot of people, including me and my friends still have faith in this project, despite the recast already available for order as well. But to see that you got pissed at us who have paid, and just had a few pieces of our mind, that felt wrong. cool down man.

Did Kit Chan bought this head as well directly to MJ Choi/Ankit? Or did he buy them from secondary market?

He claims that he wasn't aware of this head's sculptor or existence, but just got it from his sources and starts selling them in his shop. These are all the info I get from his fb comments.

I bet he is aware of that now. If he doesn't stop selling these recasts, the rest of his talk is bullshxx.

One of the initial unpainted cast receivers must have supplied him... Kit Chen, or someone with that name was not on the list of people who were first shipped the cast. Deal is if he says he isnt the recaster he knows very well who it is. The fact he doesnt give it out shows exactly he is in the know... He makes blatant recasts of Iminime sculpts too and then mods them with hair and all. I saw that Iminime Daryl sculpt now with rooted hair that he is offering. He calls them his own sculpts...

Its not a surprise that many members of this very board prefer to buy a recast. Look at the EB The Big Boss thread, people know very well that their ideas of kit bashing with recasts ensure these people keep copying.

With modified sculpts, it's kind of a grey area. I can see quite a few people jumping in the lists when MRM / robbythepainter made modified parts of the Wayne head, or medicom head to fit DX mouth plates etc. it's straight up recasting that the board is against of.

I received my unpainted hair gap filled sculpt today in the mail. :)
The quality of the cast is amazing, something the recasts undoubtedly will not be able to achieve. Just check out the picture below of the underside of the back of the hair.
Despite the whole recast issue, I feel the price was worth it for the sculpt. It's definitely at the top end of what I am willing to pay for a sculpt though.
Also, I am happy it was cast in flesh tone, that will make the painting much easier. The filled hair gap is basically unnoticeable as well.
The comparison shots are with a stock DX11 sculpt.

Of course he is in the knowledge from where this sculpt is coming from. I've discussed with him at Facebook and he talked all the time about a supplier. That supplier is doing those recasts and selling them to him for cheap and he is just reselling them again at ebay and on his shop.
Nevertheless i've asked him also in my latest post at Facebook if he can tell us who exactly the supplier is. it wouldn't surprise me, if he doesn't answer to this question and it wouldn't surprise me aswell, if the supplier would be Head Play. You just have to look, everytime they announce a headsculpt or something on their Facebook site, minutes later Kit Chen is also announcing it. The same happened also with this sculpt, Head Play showed off that cheap recasted painted headsculpt and Kit Chen had it aswell. Now with the sculpt "no makeup" look.

And as for the other recasted sculpts, i'm in the same boat as Hydeous. if the sculpt is modified, than i would see that in that grey area. I've bought the Gladiator Russel Crowe head, which was a modified recasted head from Hot Toys. If Hot Toys would have produced that headsculpt, sure i would have looked to buy the Hot Toys product, but while there wasn't any Gladiator headsculpts from any company, that modified recasted headsculpt helped me to build up my grail figure. but to copy a sculpt 1:1 and selling it for cheap is a no-go.

My goodness, these pictures made me excited again. Somehow i've lost a bit interest on this sculpt, but after seeing these pictures, i just can't wait to have mine. it looks superb when it's unpainted, i hope the painted version will have the same wow-effect in-hand.

Axe, any chances for some new pictures of the Interrogation version in day-light?

:lol:lol I laugh at the people on the DX11 thread that stands by the sh**y PERS sculpt.

Seriously. I don't understand that at all. If you're okay with it, that's great. But there's no Ledger in that sculpt at all. I'm glad for those pics though because I was reminded why I thought a sculpt this expensive was necessary
