The fedora MUST be sculpted on, removable=FAIL. Also, the sculptor should not base the size off of the HT sculpt, as it is too small to begin with imo. :duff

THIS.

M A J E S T I C X I I

Hi guys as some of you may know, recently I had done a project with an artist who would like to remain anonymous. It was this ONE. Also recently I have another interst thread running on a personal work of the artist which some members would like offered (if we reach a feasible number of interests I hope he will offer it) The link to that thread is HERE

You can check the above links to see the a sample of the quality of work he/she does.

Now here is the good news.

The artists first project here with me has opened up the artist to the possibility of doing more custom offerings on the side. And I would request you all to exploit this opportunity. The minimum requirements are:
1) A minimum interest of 30 people
2) A minimum deposit of $100 on painted sculpts (to pay for his/her initial commissioning fee) and full payment on unpainted sculpts
3) The portrait has to be of a character that the artist too feels interested in.

Taking an idea from his previous works I am guesstimating prices of his offerings to be

Unpainted sculpts: $110/$120 (Depending on complexity of and no of pieces of castings)
Painted sculpts: $280/$290 (Depending on complexity of paintwork and assembly)
Shipping Worldwide $22 via EMS (Expedited/Express with tracking)
REMEMBER THESE PRICES ARE BALLPARK ONES BASED ON HIS FIRST PROJECT PRICES, IT MAY BE LESS OR MORE DEPENDING ON THE COMPLEXITY AND MAGNITUDE OF THE PROJECT

Oh and from now on instead of having the whole inconvenience of referring to the artist as 'anonymous' we have decided to present his/her projects under the name M A J E S T I C X I I

RESULTS ARE OUT! ITS MR. JONES THE ARCHEOLOGIST!

the price aked for a simply headsculpt is pretty INSANE..this hobby is became INSANE...:cuckoo:
all of you are INSANE..:horror:wave
290usd for a head :lol :lol :lol

Re: [MJ12] Vote for the high quality sculpt you would want as the next project!

Wait wait wait... a lot of info to gather. Ill need to procure a Hot Toys DXIndy body and sculpt and hat for the artist to ensure they are all compatible.

No, please do not size it for the DX Indy body (TTM-19), the neck is much too thick and that was one of the main problems with the Indy release, was that that body just wasn't Indiana Jones. The head should be sized to regular HT body (21, or just regular narrow shoulder body)

The HT head is too small and trying to size this new sculpt for the HT hat will also result in this new head being too small. I strongly recommend that the artist do his/her own thing, and do not try and make it compatible with the existing DX Indy stuff.

Sorry, I didn't read through all the posts in the thread, I just got so excited when I read axe's post, I jumped into action.

Well, the problem here would be that though some of us would try to port this over to a new body and do other mods, I suspect the majority of those ordering would want to do as another boardie said earlier, and just pop it onto the DX body/outfit. I think in terms of skin tone, that it should match the DX-05 for the sake of satisfying most. But I also agree that matching it to the previous DX Indy head size might be a mistake.

Considering the exposed neck, I would personally prefer to use the TTM-19 or equivalent over a TTM-21. But the best solution would be a more narrow shoulder body with sculpted neck.

Even though I voted for Corleone to go with my Don Vito there is a good chance I'll be in for an Indy or two (if you do both RotLA and ToD versions).

I think if you're nuts enough to spend $200 on a painted Indy head, you realize that enough is wrong with the DX Indy that a straight head-swap is not good enough. . . but that's just me, I'm not judging.

And for painting's sake, yes, you can match that dark tanned HT tone.

As for the body, it's true that there is no body that really works for Indy, though I recently acquired the Ezio body that is the narrow shoulders with sculpted neck, which I believe is that standard size HT neck. I would be willing to send that body to the sculptor. . .but that would require an address, which would require the sculptor revealing his identity to me, and ME ALONE!!! mwahahahaha, or he/she could just put MajesticX12 or whatever.

Looks like it's actually over $300 for the painted sculpts, shipping included. . .

But I guess the question of where you stop is going to be pretty variable. Some will only be satisfied with Kato jacket, shirt, and pants, new head, and the equivalent of an Ezio body, Joe Strain whip, custom leather pouch and belt, etc. And of course, some accessories and parts from the DX Indy. At that point, you're probably looking at over $1K for your Indy figure. I actually think I might be good with what I've already done, taking the lining out of the DX jacket so it doesn't look so bulky, replacing the head, even at $300, and calling it a day.

But the single biggest issue with the DX, by a HUGE margin, is the awful head IMO. I've currently got a repainted SSC head on it, as I couldn't really stand the DX head by itself.

I think it really needs to be made for the DX05 body and clothes. Most of us who have the DX want a new sculpt. If the new sculpt is for another body/clothing, then we are starting all over at the beginning trying to get everything.

^Exactly. This sculpt is already expensive enough and to have to keep adding to the total will drive many buyers away.

Yeah, this is definitely one heckuva money sink. Still, the pursuit of that perfect Indy head is tantalizing. Although I am in pursuit of Kato clothing and all those wonderful goodies, I agree that the head should be made for the DX05.

Is it really the neck that is so bad with the DX05 body or just the shoulders/arms/head size? I think a slightly bigger head with an arm swap does wonders, which is actually really easy.

Here is mine. Obviously a work in progress. Replaced the arms with Soldier Story arms, of all things.
