I pmed Milo and told him I would be willing to work out a deal on cost but I have not heard back from him. So I dont know what the status is. Im assuming this is the route he wants to take and so I figured I would go ahead and place an order.

I'm confused. Would a casting be better? If not, I might as well buy from Shapeways. Is there much difference?

Got a question...
If I choose to order this (which I am really hoping to do) will this have a neck for a truetype body? All the heads I have ever purchased have had a neck that fits a truetype or neck adapter. When it comes to painting, I'm know I can get it painted by one of many gifted board members (I've got my favorites in mind already). I am just worried that if I get the head and have it painted I will not have a way to place it on a truetype or truetype clone body without having to seriously mod it, which I know I am not capable of doing.

I got several offers for casting the head but for now it will be only available on shapeways. I am planning to cast heads myself after I print other heads I modeled but I don't know when will I find time, I have here someone who can help. Cast will not be better than original anyway.

If you thought highest resolution is too expensive, you can also make it in "white strong and flexible polished" as the cheapest option. I can not promise how it will look like, but they also list it as high detail material, and sample objects I saw in their booth yesterday are impressive, although details for Frosted Ultra Detail were better.

Here are few more photos I took today in daylight. I painted the head with white acrylic paint only inside so it is a bit less translucent but still hard to photograph.

Thanks for letting us know.

I just placed an order on Shapeways, I selected the frosted ultra detail. Price was really good.
Looks really good too...thanks for your hard work.

(I hope that was the best one to order....lol)

Now all we need is some clothing, shoes and accessories...hehe

Anyone know where to find a 1/6 Flash shirt..

I am glad you like it Manticore72c :)

I have just uploaded few other heads to shapeways. I have not ordered them yet myself because I have about 10 more objects in plan so it will be quite an investment and I will get them all at once. Please post photos if you get any of those printed so I can also see them in real world.

I'll test out my photo skills when it arrives. :)

I'm looking forward to seeing what else you do.

I hope this project takes off, I love this show and can't wait to see
what everyone else also does with this sculpt.

Hi, do I need to create an account in order to make orders in shapeways? Also, do you know any info about shipping fee? Thanks

i was wondering the same thing. also what the 1mm thickness means in terms of fragility. if the neck has to be dremelled away it might not be possible if the material is hollow and that thin.

love how it looks though. can't wait to get one once the details are cleared up :)

I opened an account to place my order. A few simple steps.

When you add your details, the site calculates the shipping costs for you when adding items to your cart. It also gives you an ETA when the item is to be shipped to you.

Im in Australia and I think shipping and packing was around $20.00

I then paid with paypal.

Can't wait to see some photos of the head on a body.

And just a FYI, I may end up making some T's for this figure. No guarantees (I am a little backed up on some design free lance work) but I have access to a direct to garment printer at work. Here is a little preview of how the print looks at a smaller scale. I'll let people know if I decide to pull the trigger on making a small run.

We'd be forever grateful if you were able to make some T=shirts up for us.. I am hoping for a "Flash" shirt...

Got my Sheldon printed at sculpteo, just waiting for the shipping now, pics a little blurry but it looks ok

They only ship UPS which was a little expensive ($50) to Australia. Ended up sending it to a mail forwarding address in California, but that was still $20.

I ended up printing a second item to make the shipping worthwhile,, that came out great also

That is rather expensive shipping! I could try uploading it to Ponoko if that would be cheaper.

In which material did you print it in? I just got message from them that model is not printable in "white detail resin" because it is too thin. They have website technical issue so I will try uploading thicker model when they fix it.

I had the same issue on Shapeways, for the lower resolution "White Detail" plastic, so I fixed that also.

Well, it turned out much more work than I was counting on :/
I hope you like them when models arrive, so I know it was worth it :)
