Gearing to start printing phones in quantity as i finalize the internals.

I had a request to make the light blink and then turn off even the receiver is picked up, etc. I could do that but it'll take way longer and be more expensive. Likely it'll have a switch for off/on, and when on it will blink.

I don't recall getting many opinions on battery versus wall powered but for ease of display it'll be battery powered.

I hope to have some progress on the bust as well but with the holidays coming up im not quite sure when any given thing will happen. Rest assured im moving along!

Hey, everyone! The holidays are over and I'm ready to kick it into high gear! I should have some big things to show regarding the phone, but especially the bust, soon. I know it's been awhile and I apologize for that.

I assume everyone is still as interested as they were before?? I also didn't mention it but if possible I want to make the little light in the bust work as well!!!

Thanks, guys!

Big updates coming in the next week or so. Exciting stuff regarding both the phone and the bust!

That would be very cool to have the light in the bust actually work!
That's the plan for sure :) The tough part will be making the little switch. I;d love to make the switch an actual, working turn dial switch, but if not, a hidden button/switch will suffice, I think.

Hey, opinion time.... so I think we decided the phone being battery operated would be best. I assume the same for the bust?

Hey, all, just wanted to get you another update. I have some parts on order as I am trying to work out the internals of the phone. I am rying to pack a lot of stuff inside the phone so it looks seamless and can light up completely autonomously, with no external wiring whatsoever. I also have a fun little idea for the on/off switch but I'm not sure if it will work out. The parts should be here this week so I hope to have a little something more to show soon. Thanks, everyone!

Thanks for the update Andy. With the slowdown in 1/6 customs it sure is nice to look forward to your innovative creations.

Thank you! It might be slowing down elsewhere but im busier than ever!

Oh yeah, and i should have some updates on the bust this week as well!

Hey, all... so regarding the bust, I wanted to show you some of my research. The reason I am doing this is because nearly EVERY replica bust out there is wrong. The switch and light are incorrect most of them (unless the bust internals change over the course of the show's lifetime, though I could find no evidence of that).

The switch is more of a dial with with little lines on it like a watch face or something. And the light is very large with a thick, metal ring at the base.

Most of the replica busts I have seen have both the dial AND light wrong. Like this one. Here the light is 100% wrong and the dial is only a passing resemblance to the one from the show.

However I also found THIS one, which has the light dead on accurate, but the dial is wrong.

So either way I have good references now for everything, and I will be showing some WIP shots tonight. Exciting stuff! And as I said before, I also have parts for the phone coming to work out the internals. I am very concerned about not being able to get the light to blink. To do so requires a simple, but space consuming, circuitry and I'm just not sure if there is room inside the phone for it. Even if there WAS room, my biggest concern is that whatever is hidden inside the phone might take away from the lighting itself, as it could serve to block light from reach everyone inside.

So there are still things to work out, but this one is going to be fun overall!

Andy, I have that second bust you showed, and you are correct, they are all wrong. Many collectors have replaced the switch with a correct version, but required some knowledge of the process so as to not ruin it. I left mine as is.

The correct switch is almost like the face of a kitchen timer.
