This is what I dug up on the fly, but I can try to find more out tomorrow and get better reference shots.

I found this thread on The RPF and it seems that most people say that they are tortoise-shell Vuarnet 003's but some believe that they're Ray Ban CATS 4000 (see #385, p.16). The first post says that they used a darker lens than the stock one

Both of those frames are near identical so for 1/6 purposes either or would be good reference to get the basic shape. So that's the style but we just need to get good screen shots to figure out the color of both the lens and frame

Great call on that Mike! So I will let the majority rule. Vuarnet 003's or the Ray Ban CATS 4000? Personally, I think they are the Vuarnet's. Maybe it is because of the tint is so much like that one used in the movie.

I think it's 6 of one and ½ dozen of the other. They're both nearly identical. If Jon can get the color of the frames and lenses, then that'll be awesome and something that Rainman didn't achieve on his

The lenses he can get right, brownish, right? But what about the frame? I thought it was black?

If it is, it's a really dark blend because they look basically brown to me in all of the screen shots I've looked at, but either way their not black. I'll see if I can get any clear shots tomorrow

Truth be told, they're both pretty identical, but I'd say the Vaurnets. They look the most accurate when comparing images.

Jon can make it in resin, but why? I know "The Dude" is wearing plastic frames, but Jon would to make the frame of metal in order to make the silicone the mold...it would be just as expensive. Plus, the temple or arm would have to be glued on, not soldered. I think most people here would like for him to use whatever medium he chooses. Don't worry. They will come out exquisite. That I promise you. Ask 5 of the people from the list. They have all bought Jon's customs previously. Most of them, 2 or more times.

Just surprises me what with the accuracy brigade on this board.

You don't have to convince me; I've owned his Tyler shades before.

real quick update...the headsculpt is in Manila as of this morning....and also updated the list....thanks again guys...list will probably closing soon as Fullmetal gets the headsculpt and starts to work his magic...
