Also regarding the padding , it will actually only be the stomach that needs padding also an extension could be made and painted the same colour , but this all depends on what your plans are?
As i can get all this done myself you see.

I also think you would get away with no padding as the clothes will be bulky enough and he is only slightly chubby.
Also i have tried looking for an accurate sword Tsuba ( hand guard) for you but cant seem to , as this is going to need
To be very accurate aswell as the symbols on his clothing i cant find good close ups

Perfect - if it's not too much trouble, are you able to post any material you've collected that might be helpful to send to Yunsil?

I have sent him this symbol, which is as close as I can tell to the one on his kimono but I'll need to confirm it.


I have to re-watch the film in the next week or so to try an get some high quality screen grabs, I haven't had a chance this week.

Indicative quote from TORIBOX for the Kimono, Hakama (pants) and Tabi (socks) is $170 with 20 orders, or $240 with only 10 orders. It may change slightly but that's a good guide for now. Seems we've already got 10 interested so hopefully we can get the numbers up a little higher. I'll likely order two or three outfits for myself.

Nice one! That head sculpt is a great base, I considered doing a similar thing myself a few months back before talking with Rocco about this project.
Did you make the sandles? They look great.

I've been talking with Fergo Black today about making the deba (knife) and sword/sheath similar to the ones in the photos. Would anyone be interested in a (semi) screen accurate weapon set or are people planning on using their own swords?

Yunsil has provided an estimated quote for the Kimono (top), Hakama (pants) and Tabi (socks).
Between $150 - $170 if we get 20 people interested.
If we're only ordering 10, we're looking at $220 - $240.

This is an estimate obviously, and things may increase / decrease slightly as the project progresses but it's a good guide based on the photos provided, and Yunsil has made similar outfits in the past.

Not sure if I'm going to participate to this project as I'm pretty happy with mine, but I'd definitely be in for the sword!

BTW, i think that somewhere in my computer, I have a much better copy of the mon. I'll look around when I have some spare time.

I came across his work when I was doing research, didn't realise he was selling them though - do you want to contact him for a quote? If people are interested it might be a good cheaper alternative to those not wanting the Yunsil set.

Yeah I had planned to just re-paint a metal sword I already have, but if there's enough of us wanting a custom made one we may as well do it right (I'd definitely want the knife too).

A take-apart katana would be great, but I wonder what the cost difference would be and how many would want to shell out for that over a regular glued together blade + tsuka?
