Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig

No, its from a local company I have been using. Shapeways stuff sucks. They also have "guidelines" that wouldn't even allow it to be printed.

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig

Yeah never been sure about shapeways myself, though curious what their quality is like. Otherwise looks like it could be printed on a form1 going by the clear resin. Awesome printer! Looking forward to seeing more :)

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig

So in light of the HT news, who is still interested in this?

I for one am still in completely, as HT's rig looks to be on par with the SSC Bespin rig. No doubt Robbie's will be MUCH better.

Please post in here if you're still interested, if there are enough people Robbie will start taking deposits. Thanks!

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig

I'm still in the rig is the one thing i can rest soundly knowing that it will be an improvement.

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig

So the cost is going to be:

Rig, Blaster, Comm - $180 ($50 deposit)

You can also order just the rig for $150, but Robbie can't guarantee the fitting of the HT comm and blaster, and his blaster looks to be better than HT's anyhow. The $50 deposit can be sent to [email protected]

We need 20 deposits to move forward with this pricing, fellas, so lets make it happen!

Can anyone send a deposit? I'm surely interested

I think we are going to be hard pressed to get deposits from everyone on the main/wait lists, so go ahead and send one amalak. I'll add you to the list.

I'll be sending PM's to everyone, including waitlisters at some point today regarding the deposit.

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig

I'm out as well not enough funds at the moment.

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig *SEND DEPOSITS*

C'mon folks....don't everyone go quittin' now. This will easily be superior to HT or any other version of Han you have. Search your feelings. You know it to be true!

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig *SEND DEPOSITS*

na...I actually cancelled about a month or two ago...way before the reveal...I just don't have it in the budget for this....not until middle of next year...

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig *SEND DEPOSITS*

If it were a bit cheaper i would stay in but after shipping itll be the cost of the ht han. Im still on the fence if the run goes threw i might jump back in for for now im out.

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig *SEND DEPOSITS*

Hey marf would I be ok to send the deposit? I understand if not but worth a try

Re: [robbiethepainter] 1/6 ANH Han Solo Blaster Rig *SEND DEPOSITS*

Without trying to make this too difficult, I have a few questions. . .

Can we see a pic of the finished blaster? Also, curious about what material it's made out of. I know most stuff is resin, so I'd be a bit concerned about breakage in the trigger area, fitting it into the hands.

And also, how is the rig fastened together? Is it adjustable so we can set it lower around the waist if this HT body is a bit thicker around that area? I'd imagine it wouldn't be an issue, but the concern was raised that the HT blaster and comm might not fit in this rig, so I suppose that raises the possibility that the rig may not fit on HT's body. It looks like this may be a new body from HT, so I'm just trying to plan ahead.

Lastly, if people can't pay now, would it be wiser to delay this project until after the HT Han arrives? So, the rig could be sized to the HT stuff? And maybe people could see for themselves, that HT's rig is not that great? And it could put a bit of pressure on those folks to upgrade? I mean, my Bespin Luke rig has split from the backing, and the magnets have come off, so I get it, I would prefer a nicely weathered, leather rig from Robbie.

This is less of a concern of mine, but I'm just speaking up, if a bunch of people don't pay, I don't want the price to go up. Just, y'know, the Pulp Fiction briefcase was timed for the Rainman figures, so that demand was there, folks already had their Lector, so they wanted a gurney.

But now, I would imagine the Space Smuggler project might be kiboshed due to recent licensing issues and HT's reveal. So, that demand might not be there on this project at this time. At the same time, I understand that Robbie has cleared the schedule to make these now, and I don't want to be the one throwing the monkey wrench in it, but there are extenuating circumstances. I just wanted to throw that thought out there.
