Wor-Gar, your tailor needs to know that denim like leather comes in oz (thinness) There's denim at 1.25 oz at Jo-Ann's. like linen thin. But needs to be bleached.

Wor-Gar, please let us know what body the shirt will be tailored to fit. Maybe the one Vash used, something that won't be hard to acquire.

That's a good point about the body. I'll asked when he gets back to me about the material. But remember, this shirt will be made a bit baggy in true 90's style so it won't be fitted or tight and should work on any body.


RavenEye, I'll mention that if nothing he finds is suitable. But he may be reluctant to buy a yard of that material and have to bleach it to get it right -- if he messes up its his loss.

Quick update on shirt: unfortunately, no satisfactory material found last week, he needs a little more time. Hopefully this week.

I was told by Gee Whiz that Chambray is really what you want to use to simulate denim at 1/6. The texture in real denim is too large at that scale. Here is an auction on ebay for what seems to be pretty close in color. There are auctions for others as well.

Another possibility. Maybe your friend could find this at the fabric store as well. He might have only been looking for denim.

Just got back to the hat sculpt this evening and I still have a bit more work to do to try to get it matched to reference pictures. I will also add the texture once I'm completely happy with the shape. I'll also correct the front so that it doesn't slope as much backward towards the top of the hat.
Anyway, here's where it sits at the moment sans hat band:

Maybe the hat should be seated just a little further back on the head so its not hiding the eyes so much.

Still working on the hat and I think it's getting there, but in the meantime, I made my Grant a pair of shades.

Not really my best paintwork, but I needed to see how Grant would look.

I really like the look with glasses on so I'm glad I was able to get the glasses to work. Now I really need to get the hat version done since I think that would be a nice option to switch out the head with.
