I'll be trying my hand at a new shirt as well, but for now, here's how a cast of the head looks on my build:

I'll try to take more closeup pictures tomorrow after work, but hopefully this is a good update for folks here :)

Looks great! Always love that shovel. :)

What are you going to try for a new shirt?

Thanks guys!
Wor-Gar, I don't know yet if I should buy another shirt, but I do want to try my hand at sewing one as well.
Mudblood - It just goes to show, it doesn't hurt to ask ;)

I just blocked in a hat shape this evening to see how I'll be going about with the hat and if anything I can mold and modify it later on. I will be doing the concentric textures on the hat so it doesn't look like a leather fedora.

Here we go! :yess:

Regarding the shirt, I have searched high and low and still haven't found another option other than the one Mudblood found. To get one that matches Grant's and is baggy enough to hang correctly, likely the best result would come from a custom. Shortround never responded about his custom Grant outfit so I can only assume that's dead. If anyone knows a custom tailor who may be interested that might be the only solution. The baggy cut of Grant's work shirt is uniquely 90's -- we all had one like that back then.

I've reached out to an old friend who did a couple custom jobs for me a long time ago to see if he's interested. I told him that perhaps a couple other guys may want one as well if the price was right, so I'll let everyone know what he says. He's out of the country so there's a time delay sometimes.

I would be interested. I'm still going to try to finish altering the shirt I got to see how it turns out.

OK, I'll keep you posted. The customizer expressed interest in making the shirt (perhaps even doing a few multiples) but I'm just waiting on the price estimate and his samples for the "denim" look.

UPDATE: the customizer estimated approx. $25 to make the Alan Grant shirt (not including shipping). He is looking for suitable material. The shirt will be made baggier so it hangs correctly and needs to be a lighter weight than actual denim.

OK, if you don't mind, Mudblood, I'll just keep the information in this thread for now so everything's in one place.

Here's the interest list:
1. rjszar
2. Imperial Spy
3. Wilian_C_B
4. slamscaper
5. Mudblood
6. Dingobuzz269
7. Greeky04
8. Majin5

I'll keep a tally just so I can let the tailor know how many may be interested. I told him maybe 5 or 6 guys, so we're already doing better.

The plan at the moment is for him to get some material samples this week. Once that's approved, it will take him about 3-4 weeks to do the job (he works, so he's squeezing this in). He's going to make the prototype shirt first. Then he says he will offer additional shirts thru his website after that. That's how he'd like to do this. At least this way you'll see a finished shirt before you commit.

Just so you all know, I've been very happy with his work in the past for me, and this is a fairly simple shirt (if we can find the right material). I have already asked for small buttons, so don't worry. Working pockets too. But if not, then right pocket buttoned, and left pocket unbuttoned has been discussed. I also asked for rolled up sleeves -- since Grant never has his sleeves rolled down -- and the un-needed cuffs have helped keep the cost down.

Added.

And just as a reminder, the price of $25 was an estimate (and without shipping). It won't double or anything but it could fluctuate based on material chosen (say we find a perfect material but its a little pricey, or maybe the really small buttons are more then first thought). The tailor is very fair so he won't gouge but I have no idea what final price will be determined.
