First Class Sculpts/Outfits: Charles, Erik, and Raven

Realizing that the Professor X Hot Toys figure we saw a couple years ago isn't happening, I'm looking into getting the parts together for some custom 1/6th scale X-Men characters--Magneto and Professor X from First Class, and board member Star Puffs is looking into some outfit options, as well as options for Mystique.

I'm only looking into sculpts and outfits (possibly hands as well for a blue Mystique in civilian clothes), but it's possible a painter on the boards would partner on this one. No details are nailed down.

I would be looking for two separate Fassneto sculpts--one with helmet, and one without, and one McAvoy Prof. X sculpt.

I will also look into the red suit Magneto from the end of the film (including the addition of the little horns for the helmet) if there is enough interest:

Star Puffs is gauging interest in civilian outfits for both of these guys. These are are the outfits she is considering:

She expects to have prototypes done some time in September.

She is also looking into options for Mystique. Specifically, civilian "disguise" Mystique, with both Caucasian Lawrence head, and blue Mystique head and hands. A flight suit Mystique could be a later option, but will depend on the success of putting together male flight suits and getting her sculpts done first.

So, I'm gauging interest here to estimate how many others might be on board. If you are interested, please state which character(s)/outfits you might be interested in.

I really want to see these outfilt attempted by custom tailors. People complain about the rising cost of HT, but they are hands down the best when it comes to these types of costumes and so I am curious to see how these get executed. These are not the normal things we see from custom tailors.

Thanks. And I agree with you about that. These aren't typical suits, or jackets and slacks or whatever, and I'm not sure how feasible getting an accurate material/texture might be for the whole suit no matter who does it. But then, Hot Toys' prototype wasn't entirely screen accurate either.

But I think it works really well. So, I think something really good can be done, even if it's not perfect. But like you, I would love to see someone try to get it as close as possible.

I'd love nothing more than these. Wjat the **** is wrong with hot toys they jump on every garbage lisence there is but snooze on a legitimate blockbuster, amazing film and superhero movie to boot in DOFP.

Is it for sure we don't know Xavier won't happen now that the new film is out?

I would totally love to see this happen. Hot Toys are a bunch of *******s for abandoning the First Class license and may even skip DOFP too. Just terrible so definitely would love to see both be made.

I still say there is more to it than HT just not wanting to make figures. No Fassbender in either X men or Prometheus figures previewed.

This is the stuff I always say, but it's always shouted down with "No, Hot Toys is just stupid and dumb." They don't spend money on licenses just to decide, "Eh, no let's not"

That aside, why not start with magneto's red costume worn in DOFP? At least the project won't be derailed if HT ever decided to release the prototype as a event exclusive. (seeing that the blue/yellow costume only needs a head swap between magneto and xavier).

I have not seen Chan flat out saying that this won't happen, so it's possible. But I think the writing is on the wall with a prototype shown two years ago, and nothing since then.

I'm just looking into the two figures now. I only collect the more important Marvel characters, and Mags and Professor X are the two most glaring omissions from the films I care about. Lord knows we aren't lacking for Marvel Studios figures, and we've got options for Spidey.

Two reasons. One, I think there's still a chance we might get DOFP figures, if we see something in the next several months, particularly during the summer convention season. Secondly, I think both of these guys need to be made, whether it be from First Class, DOFP, or some other film, because they are essential complements. Doing a custom Prof. X in a wheelchair is too much IMO. And I personally wouldn't care for a powerless Charles on display, which is what he was when he walked in DOFP.

Also, even if you're right and HT did decide to do these figures officially, they would need more than a simple head swap. Their outfits have some differences that would have to be accounted for.

I do, and if both pan out I don't think anyone will complain. But I don't want to put the cart before the horse.
