im interested for sure

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

I think there's sufficient interest here to say that I'm looking into Sean Dabbs for the sculpts. Cost of sculpts would be based on the number of established folks who were willing to pay for them--not sure I want to just offer these to anyone if I commission them, as then we might see cheap recasts on eBay, in which case that bum would be profiting off of our investment.

Of course, you could also use sculpts to do civilian outfits of either of these guys, or other characters they've played in other movies.

Love your choice of First Class sculpts!

I would be in for at least head sculpts for both Magneto (only the regular, no helmet) and Xavier.

Suits I'm less sure of - it would depend on how they look and the cost, because I would be happy getting civilian clothes for them; I love Erik's looks in XFC, especially in the first pic of him in the leather jacket that's posted on this page. And Charles I would be happy to have him in something like what he was wearing in that scene as well.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

OK. If others aren't interested in the suits, please make your opinion known so I can better gauge potential interest in clothing. By the way, I saw the DAM Spade 4 figure, and thought this jacket could work well for Fass Mags even if it isn't perfectly screen accurate.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

If you can pull off a Magneto flight suit. Im in, no question!

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

I might be interested in civilian looks as well .

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

The red costume would be top priority, the blue/yellow one would really depend on the price.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

I'd definitely be down for red Magneto costume at end of FC or in DOFP. This suit..meh. Add me as interested in all head sculpts only for now.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

I'm not going for DOFP Mags at this point, just the First Class version. DOFP Mags would need a completely different head sculpt for the different helmet. Plus, the outfit would require involvement from someone who could sculpt the armored parts, which means more than a typical tailor, and higher costs as I've seen from some other projects. On top of that, I still think there's a chance HT will announce some DOFP figures during the summer cons.

Having said that, if this project works out, then that could be something worth considering down the road. I don't care about the suit at the end of First Class myself, and that would be yet another different helmet, though a slight mod of the one he used earlier in the film.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

Still hoping the prototypes that were shown months back turn into actual products. While Marvel/Disney might be stepping on the X-Men and FF action figure air hose, I can't believe they would concern themselves so much with the niche high end market. The numbers are miniscule when compared to the gazillions of carded figures lining the shelves at TRU, Wal Mart, etc. Sure they might frown on HT producing these figures vs. Iron Man, Avengers and GotG, or it might simply be a matter of HT not having the faith in the line or the bandwidth to produce (except for Wolverine of course). I'd like to see the license go to one of the hungrier up and coming 1:6 companies. But of course HT could just squat on the license in order to keep the competition down. Too bad all around, but if customizing is what it takes, that's what I will pick up.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

Well there was one prototype for Professor X, and it wasn't shown months back, but rather two years ago. It was not on display during last year's SDCC.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

Thought more people would be in for this bump for more interest.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

Once I can get the tailoring confirmed, assuming it works out as I hope it will, I think the demand is definitely going to be here.

IMINIME would be great for this the outfits would look great and their head sculpt's would be awesome.

Re: Interest in Classy Mutie Custom Figures

I agree with you guys for sure, though in the past my suggestions to Denny have been totally ignored :lol Maybe I just don't know how to properly ingratiate myself. Plus, I don't know if this would be a huge, huge seller for him, and he seems to only want to go after sure-fire hits at this point. --edit: on further thought, I'm not sure I want to go that route right now, as this would probably be a year out at the earliest, and frankly I don't want to wait on all that. If my current plans fall through, I'll e-mail Denny about it--

On another note, I'm realizing that the Magneto from the end of the film shouldn't be too too hard to tailor:

So maybe someone who typically tailors simpler outfits could do it, at a relatively low cost. And the existing sculpt would just need to be painted differently, and to have the little devil's horn emblem thing attached to the front, that I'm sure someone around here could have 3-D printed without too much additional cost. So, I'll look into that option as well if there is enough interest, though I personally don't think I would go for it. I'll go ahead and put beltram down for that one.
