Great! That's the best reference I have ever seen. Likely more than we need... but great source.

So I went ahead and converted the pocket measurements down to 1/6 based on real-world measurements in post #471.

I'll pass these on to Jagzz so he can check the proto pocket size and see where we are. Clearly the pocket will be moved, perhaps its already in scale... but this will make it perfect.

Pocket Measurements in 1/6th:

pocket width = 1.04 inch
pocket height = 1.25 inch

flap at widest point = .45 inch
bottom flap to bottom pocket = .79 inch

pocket distance to storm flap (stitchline) = .16 inch
pocket bottom distance to bottom edge of jacket = .33 inch

Thanks for doing the 1/6 conversion.

No problem. I need to do the distance to jacket edge for the right pocket as well.

I love all this detail, but we may be jumping the shark if we start worrying about the underarm space... instead of say the large teeth of the zipper, which is something right in our face.

Anyway, here's a quick reference chart that might help the tailor (1/6th in inches):

Also, here is a good picture of the strap buckle if we can find one closer to this if possible...

These are the closest buckles I have found so far that are 4.5mm.

I will keep looking.
The way the jacket is made at the sides is integral to the look of the jacket. I checked with my Iris jacket and that gets it pretty much correct- the only mistake is that the back panel isn’t wide enough.
Let’s get this as right as we can all over, not just at the front. Let’s make it the only 1/6 jacket that even comes close. It’s as easy to get it wrong as it is to get it right, the only difference is the research.

Hey Wor, how does the color of the leather look? Does it look like the movie? I’m no expert with Indy. Does the weathering and the sleeves look correct? Thought the sleeves look too long?

I just want it to be known I appreciate you Wor, and of course everyone else with this painstaking pinpoint accuracy which will make this Jacket the grail we all need and want! Thank you. And thank you to Jagzz for making this happen. Thank you.

Fortune and Glory!!

Any chance you can take a picture of what's right about the Iris jacket and match an angle to this jacket so we have a side-by-side view -- easier for the tailor to understand.

And I agree about getting as much right as possible.

You know I don't have this in hand, right? That's jagzz.

But to me, the color looks great. It seems worn in too, lived in, which is key. I'd prefer to weather it myself though.

The sleeves look correct in some pictures and then sometimes long-ish in others. I would say they are good, but again we'll get measurements and compare to really know. Sleeves have the benefit of hands (or better yet gloves) to hold them back and add to the crinkly-ness... so better a bit long then a bit short.

Remember also -- and this is important -- that if we're taking real-world measurements from the jacket and converting them into 1/6th measurements, then we are tailoring a little 1/6th jacket for a little 1/6th Ford... but who knows if the body we are using has Ford's actual measurements? So we also have to keep in mind what simply LOOKS right at a certain point regardless of matching centimeters. Because of the body it is on.

Thanks for the references gents, it’s really a lot to digest.. Will need to simplify it to the tailor.

I think what I need to confirm is:
- Is the zipper color correct?
- What is the color of the strap buckle?

For the measurement of the jacket length, thanks garr for translating it to 1/6 measurement.. I will try to measure it today.

As Joshua said, thank you to Wor and Misterscruff for pouring over the finer details and providing the screen comparisons.

My own take is that there remains the issues raised before (pocket positioning and size, issue with collar not coming down quite far enough). I know jacket length had been a concern but it looks great to me, I wonder if the small pockets made it appear longer TBH, and I also like the sleeve length as it can still be bunched up a bit to give it some wrinkles.

 It’s the first time I have seen a 1/6 real leather jacket so precise and close to the one in the movie

Understand, regarding the sleeve length I think it's perfect TonTon, I'm afraid if we make it much more longer it will make the whole jacket proportion off.. but what the tailor definitely can do is to add more wrinkles in the production jacket. So don't worry you will get all the wrinkles you want hahaha

what color is it now? It depends because the zipper was a nickel one painted brass but the paint kept rubbing off. I think I'm ok with either. The strap buckles are silver or gunmetal color.

Zipper color is correct (aluminum in movie) but if he could find a smaller scale would be better. (SEE post #478)

Strap buckle is black or gunmetal (per picture posted #483).

Definitely let me know what will work best/easiest for the tailor -- pictures, list, whatever -- and I will try to provide.

Sent you a PM Garr.. let's do this right.

I'm thinking these are the best reference for the strap buckles (from Kato's unfinished jacket run) only the color should be gunmetal or black as stated before.
