I had about a month and a half of mail moving again and now it’s all clogged up to **** again. Absolutely nothing is moving. With Covid and a federal holiday USPS just implodes seemingly.

It’s highly alarming that Rainman did not send out tracking numbers I don’t understand this, maybe he has them, everyone should reach out and check.
Im willing to bet they all are sitting in a sorting center somewhere for the past two weeks collecting dust, like all of my other packages currently have been.

Yeah I can’t understand why he didn’t give anyone tracking. He always did in the past . I asked him about it a few days ago and he said he’d give me tracking this Monday when he returns home. He just posted on Facebook for everyone who hasn’t received their sculpt to comment on the post. So hopefully we can get the numbers soon

Rainman posted on Facebook asking people to comment if their sculpt hasn't arrived. It will probably become a dump for other issues though lol.

So when I pull up an issue he knows people are complaining about, he laughs???
The head isn't scaled correctly with the body he used as reference that he knows people would use...

Responded with "Sorry but I paid $230 for this unpainted sculpt that has had the same issues your other recent sculpts have had, not to mention it was three months overdue. You could at least give me a polite explanation/response."

I wouldn’t fault any project for being overdue during this pandemic situation. The sculpt size is subjective, it’s same size as some sculpts I have, but the issue being that it has an exposed neck. I’m confident I can get it looking good once painted and I find the ideal body.

He deleted it as I posted this "If almost every customer who receives a product has flagged it for an issue, then there is something wrong. Surely that is an undeniable fact? These customers have been buying for years too, including me, so it's not pleasant to see you post about us like this."

I don't think airing all the private conversations you have with people is cool at all. And in the case of the last thing you posted you stated you are "talking for everybody". I think that is an extremely disingenuous and unfair thing to say because although there are people upset about the size, glasses, whatever, not everyone is, and you implying otherwise is simply inappropriate.

I’m happy that the issue of size is being brought up yes a lot of his older heads are over sized but I do feel this one is extreme. I believe his reaction being rude is because he feels attacked which could be due to the nature of how the message was delivered and the specific direct/harsh language used.

I hope there’s also another way it can or could be brought up to circumvent the current situation so Rainman doesn’t feel it’s a personal attack and it becomes a point of contention. I remember we were talking about a potential petition a bit back that might carry more power. Like now that he’s received several different notes about the glasses he knows it’s a widespread issue and feels he has to take action.

In working with Lee for years he’s very sensitive (As most artists are). I know this will bother him to the point he considers it deeply. I remember other figures where he’s gotten very upset at the request for changes a few times he took some hiatuses.

As an artist I get it, as a customer I get it. It’s a tricky dance, being an art/creative director in my daily profession I realize that very much, delivering effective feedback with constructive criticism while maintaining respect is hard. I know this is an after the fact customer feedback sort of situation and that’s unfortunate it’s already in hand before we had a chance to react to it.

I will think about this more, I will also try and approach Lee privately and inquire if he would at all be open to issuing an alteration even for the fee of casting to be covered by the customers who want a downsize. I think that’s a fair compromise. Moreover it will hopefully resonate with him in the long run fo double check things like this in future projects

I don’t personally have a dog in this fight as I didn’t purchase RM’s sculpt. However, I don’t think it’s right to publicly blast an artist like RM who has such great respect among collectors. I do agree RM should make this right among collectors who feel they were wronged. I also agree with what Ray suggested of taking a petition of collectors who are unsatisfied and proposing a compromise is a way more professional approach to handle an issue like this. I believe if handled this way everyone will have a better outcome in the end because the last thing you want is an artist upset at their customers. This will kill the love in the hobby which in my opinion is a critical component.

As one of the lucky guys that already received the Dude HS (in France), I'm really surprised with "the oversize issue"... I've put it on a TrueType TTM19 (which hopefully will suit the Iris clothes & fat pad to come) and it fits the neck perfectly, according to me. I'll try to post some pics asap (not at home at this time)

the issue is TTM19 is just not the body that this character should be built on. The dude isnt exactly a body double for Hugh Jackman..

Either way, Im hopeful if we approach rainman in an organized respectful way hell help us work out a compromise similar to Rays suggestion of Lee recasting at a smaller size and discounted rate

(I've asked someone at home to make pics)
As usual, people need to watch out for the wide angle effect on smartphones, once in hands with a direct look things appear (most of the times) to be normal
