Re: MG2065/MoeProductions - Popeye - Final pics pg7 *Deposits needed

Never was a fan of the movie when I was kid but since watching as an adult, I like it a lot more. I too think it was ahead of its time. It is so strange but its a really distinct world and tone.

Very excited about the arm revisions! The sweet pea looks spectacular.

I just took a glance at the movie this morning. I remember being a kid and renting the VHS constantly. Fast forward 25 years and it still hits me with the nostalgia. I think the movie was way beyond its time. I found parts of it grating even back then (Olive Oil mostly haha), but I absolutely loved Robin Williams in it.

I find it funny now after so many years that the town itself still exists as a theme park.

I was curious about the sleeve length, is there a way to make them slightly longer to hide the elbow joint? Only reason I ask is I just watched the movie and his sleeves are on the longer side. Might also help with the arm blending.

It is funny from the first proto I saw the square patch at the bottom of the neck line and thought it was weird... and Lo and behold its just like in the movie. Very nice detail on that! Amazing stuff. I am very excited for this set.

I just put the arms into molds. I'll cast them and ship off to Robbie so he can work his magic. I'll post final pics when he's all done. Here is a pic of the full set/DX box with logo (compliments of Corrose Designs).

I'm reworking the Popeye forearms in resin. They will be painted to match the head sculpt. I'm hoping to have the final sets photographed in the next week or so.

Here is a work in progress shot of Sweet Pea.

Wow, this project looks excellent! That sweetpea and Popeye combo are killer. Really beautiful work.

Hi Mike is it too late to add me for a dx set? I've sent you a PM. Please let me know. Thanks!

So glad I'm down for the dx set such a beautiful tribute to an amazing man so sad though.
Miss doubtfire for the the win!
Yes I agree. Loved the movie Popeye when I was a kid. Watched that many times. And Mrs. Doubtfire. Rest in peace, Robin Williams.

Haha a Mrs. Doubtfire figure would be hilarious. I loved him in his role as Popeye. The movie had such an odd tone to it, but yet I loved it. Not many others have appreciation for that film.

I will Speak on behalf of myself and Mike when we say these won't happen yet because it would seem like cashing in on his death which is wrong.
I'm still gutted about the loss of a icon....... Maybe later someday we will see Mrs Doubtfire :)

I popped the Mrs. Doubtfire blu ray in last night. They have entire reels of alternate takes he did, its well worth the watch to see how different every take was. Robin Williams portrayed so many great characters. I know some people hated the movie but Hook was also a personal favorite of mine.
