Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

I think as long as it is a Mk23 and you like the way it looks that should be enough. There are USP tactical pistols around that are similar to the MK23 that might be confusing. I have a few of each laying around I'll try to post an example.

For those who don't already know the difference Left is the HK Mk23 and the HK USP Tactical is on the Right... DSC06213.jpg

And here are some better pictures of the Mk23 I made. Tony was right about the MK23 being from Dragon and the Silencer looks like the one he posted. Don't know about the laser but it looks similar to the attached one posted earlier...DSC06214.jpgDSC06215.jpgDSC06218.jpg

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

Looks great, Maistro! Those BD T2 hands were an excellent choice.

I still have to figure out what I'll do with the hands. I'll probably end up buying a few pairs and seeing which ones are the best fit.

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

Would the Yamato hands work on a HT body? You'd just need to pain the little rectangular area grey.

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

The Yamato Sniper Wolf and Meryl figure hands fit the Hot Toys pegs but the plastic the hands are made of is soft. I don't know if Snake is any different.

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

hope you dont mind man, but i immediately copied you on the hands, theyre a really good fit. not perfect, but close enough! thats all i really needed

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

They are a great choice for sure, probably the best without having to properly mod hands. They're close enough

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

I guess I might pick up a few pairs of the BD T2 hands myself, because they do look very nice. Reps to Maisto for the awesome suggestion!

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

Please be clear that the hands are from the Battle Damage Terminator T800 figure not the Terminator 2 figure. The T2 figure gloves do not look the same.

Re: MGS1: Solid Snake [sdabbs]

I don't know how I missed that, thanks for the clarification.

Update - 05/06/15

For the first run - i've received the parts from Pete and started gluing the straps to the pads last night. I'll have glued and packaged everything up this weekend so shipping will commence next week.

Second run casted parts - they will be arriving at the end of next week (as per the tracking) so I'll have them sorted and shipped to Pete for those who opted for painted and then the unpainted one to customers the following week.

How'd you get the rectangle to look so solid on it? Did you mold it to the back of the hand, or did you pile on many layers paint?

I might be sending business your way on a commission.
